I find it Exhilarating that there are men such as yourself that have this knowledge of electronics to be able to ascertain what's wrong with an old radio such as this, find and track down the defective component and replace it to once again restore a radio to new status! Thank for the video!

It sure is. I need to do a tube set next. Missing that high voltage adrenaline after all these 12V restores 😊 ⚡️

This Zenith is really performing well now. Good to see such a result after all the effort involved.

Great radio indeed! 👍🏼 The french speaking radio you get around 170KHz in LW may well be 171 KHz, Radio Medi 1-Nador, Maroc, barely 14Km from where I was born 😁

Thanks for that info. I guessed it was close due to the reception strength, but had no idea what station it was.

Here in Baghdad Iraq I can listen to stations on longwave (153 kHz from Romanian,171 kHz from Morocco and 225 kHz from Poland) at night using MLA-30+ antenna.

Perhaps someday you might consider restoring a Hallicrafters SX-28- I have heard it requires someone with a cool, calm set of nerves around the band switch. By the way, you have the perfect voice for these videos. Thanks from So. Calif.

I’d love to tackle a Hallicrafters 😊 However, that is really not very likely in Portugal, unfortunately. As for the voice: Someone once said I had a perfect face for radio 😊

T208 with point 6 could be found: because FM works well, just try every connection on T208 until you find the one that will go through zero.

It's a nice looking radio and sounds great, not sure if I would like to do major repairs on it. It picks up BBC radio 4 very well. When I lived and worked in Gibraltar back in the early 1970s I was able to receive BBC radio 4 at midday, which I was quite surprised. I like to have all adjustments at the rear, while it is still in its case, things can go wrong afterwards. Still a nice radio.

17:57 hello I have the R 7000 and I have a question about the side dial that selects the different bands range. I got this radio back in 1980 and when I turned that side dial it used to go clunk clunk clunk clunk now it does not also does not seem to lockin place. I’m not sure if that part of it is repairable. I definitely do not have the knowledge of how to repair it. I shake too bad. I’m looking for help in my area. I’m in south west Michigan.

That is definitely repairable. Look around your area for a good tech.

Temos progresso! O vinil lateral não pode levar nenhum tipo de cola pois caso contrário borbulha e encolhe.

Hi Manuel, Can you please add subtitles? greetings from Chile
@electronicsoldandnew2 жыл бұрын
Unfortunately not, but KZbin desktop can translate the content to just about any language you choose. You need to activate subtitles, and then in the settings select auto-translate. It takes the auto-captions that will be in english, and translates them for you. It's not perfect, but pretty good. I noticed that it takes a little time for the auto-captions to become available after the upload, but it seems to finally appear.
