I was over there watching them about the same time as you. Interesting little switching operation they had there. I managed to include something a little similar on my model layout.

The FMs are such a fabulous design, just look the role completely. And an epic horn on these switchers! Thanks again for sharing your collection with us!

Looks like an H10 or H1244. The rails are in bad shape from the sounds of the sleepers being crushed.

H12-44. The track wasn't in the best shape.

Fairbanks Morse, Alco, and Baldwin are the epitiome of Locomotive builders. They should still exist today

its a shame FM designs didnt make a bigger impression on RR. their Opposing Piston engines were very fuel efficient. and great power. sad most are gone now. notice white exhaust. not black. complete combustion.
@Danvers972 жыл бұрын
White typically means a head gasket issue. Blue means its burning oil and black means unburnt fuel. Source. I worked on bulldozers for Yancy Caterpillar for a few years. Diesels should under load always puff black smoke unless running a SCR system like def.

@@Danvers97 kinda tough to find a head gasket on an opposed piston engine
@Danvers97 Жыл бұрын
@@johnspencer7291 thats why I said typically. Its very uncommon to see opposed piston engines now so
