Great race. Reckon this track should be used today in A.S.B.K.

it was a fantastic fast track to ride. They sold the land and turned it into houses decades ago . .

It's from 1986 I was a flag marshall on Castrol corner that day. At the 12:00 minute mark they tell you, Osbourne was the reigning 250cc and 350cc Australian Champion from '85.

Thanks, Don. Like your avatar - had a blue and white GS1000S when they came out. Best long-distance high speed bike I have owned. Only bike I still have dreams about. Wish I’d never sod it.

The "John French, his father, will be driving later this afternoon in the Australian Endurance Championship" comment is because this meeting was a 2+4 event; there were cars and bikes competing in their own races on the same track on the same day. The competitors liked it, they just got to race; changing officials, all officials, flag marshalls, Clerk of the Course, etc, after almost every race, was a nightmare!

This seems to be from late 1986, with the bikes supporting the "BP Plus 300" touring car race, as its mentioned when running through the grid that John French is racing in the 2nd round of the "Australian Endurance Championship" later that day... Do you have any more footage from this race meeting by chance? I had never known this race meeting had been televised?
