If your scout has good adaptability, he can learn about countries he doesnt know easier than one with a bad rating. The knowledge only shows what a scout already knows.

The more scouts you have, the more specific you can go is the way I think of it. In my united save there's alot of scouts so I do as you did and then specific countries- spain, portugal, belguim, france, brazil, argentina, England, italy- ones where you'd find class players. 30 players within a week or 2, plus agents offers and updates on shrtlisted wonderkids. Didn't work so much when I started the save but within a year or 2 it picks up. A few cross over but in the end it works out. Really miss the report card only option, that worked a treat in past FM's and you could easily find what you wanted.

you have cracking videos mate i only used to load 3-4 leagues with 35k players until i saw your fm19 set up video in october,changed my life i now run 12 leagues with 125k players

Do you need to have all those leagues active to buy players from them? I tend to have the big leagues to keep the game going faster.

When you sta r your game, do you load up africa too as league you can play with? Or scouts still find players even if the league is not playeble

Does a scouts judging of actual and potential play a huge part in finding stars? I.e they say the player is a sttar but ends up being like 3-4 stars?

Can you please make a video on scouting on lower league clubs. For example I am playing as Albion rovers ; they will only allow scouting in Scotland

How do you make your home screen like this? I can only have (about 5-6) sections ex: Promises,league table etc. How do you make the smaller? Found where you can make the side bar more compact but couldn’t find this. Any help is appreciated. Thanks

Some good tips here, thanks. I know some people (when looking for wonderkids) also set a limit on current ability - that they have to be at least one star (Low). Reason being that if their ability is any lower than that, there is a greater chance they will never make the top grade. I tend to prefer scouting regions. I may be wrong, but it sounded like you were restarting the search each year - I'm not sure a scout could get all around Europe in one year! So is there not a chance that they will miss countries out all the time? One thing I also find handy, but more searching for players - is the little setting wheel next to the 'transfers' and 'loan' options. You can pick those who are very interested in signing for you - or not so keen (knowing they will need a nice pay rise!) Thanks again, good work.

I only have loaded 2 leagues because my laptop goes super slow if I load another league . Will that affect my scouting?

karl eariss you don't need gems in lower league...you need to find players that will get you through the leagues...you need to start to look for gems when you get to about league one level, even when you find 5 star potential player in national league he won't be good enough by the time you get to league one...I would look at released players from higher leagues and offer them trials, some of them might come and of course loans

karl eariss Released lists are definitely a good shout, rather than scouting numerous players and waiting, offer plenty of trials, look out for loan listed players, high pace is usually a great trait for very low league, I’d recommend trying to avoid spending any transfer fees until league one/championship, keep a lot of wage held back, me and my friend both did Road to Glory’s and he ended up struggling due to signing too many players over 1 or 2 thousand a week early on, also once at championship level, filter by minimum release fee and you’ll find many gems

You do know the black/dark star in the potential rating is unknown right? You are constantly talking about 5 star potential, but you don't know that. Could be only 4 or 4,5.

Night Manager If you don’t have a lot of scouts you can scout specifically, look for competitions nearby with even or lower reputation related to your competition and good youth facilities. Those players are more likely to want to join you and you will be able to pay their wages. I don’t know what goes in Armenia, but maybe you can reach Eastern Europe or a lower league in Turkey. Maybe some clubs in your own competition have good facilities.
