that's messed up what he said about a "normal american or british drummer just playing beats" With the thousands of brilliant american and british drummers that have done SO much more than 'just playing beats' I find that really ignorant. Go listen to Elvin Jones again and than think twice before talking that shit

You are not getting it. The typical role of a drummer is to maintain rhythm. But trilok has done so much more, he experiments a lot with composition and sound. So he stands true to what he said, he didn't see himself as a typical drummer.
