I'm currently flying the PNP version of this plane with an AR620 on a 2nd hand DX6E. And I LOVE it. I've done some minor customizations - under wing striping and a couple "off road" LED's on the CG line - and I have a blast at my local parks and fields. It's my 2nd plane and I've been flying for a couple of months. It's got impressive power on 4s 2200 with the stock ESC (Beadles 40a). Having a computerized TXer has made this plane such a joy to fly. Flap mixing, aileron to rudder, etc. keeps me confident. While making small adjustments and improvements keep me filling and draining 3s and 4s bats as often as weather allows. Can't say enough good things about this plane. 👍

I call these types of planes "pick-up trucks" You can take them anywhere, you get comfortable with them, and they just go and go and go. Glad you found a great 2nd plane. Good choice.

Finally a review using the supplied radio in the RTF version 👍

This Cub is a very nice flyer. A friend of mine has one and we were at a float fly and one of our club's hot shots he flew knife edge loops with it on the stock power set-up and floats!

Thank you very much for the info on the radio system protocol, I'm looking at setting up my Radiomaster tx16s to control this plane and I've been having trouble trying to find that detail. Awesome review and cool flying.

Very nice build and flight videos. Have the FMS Ranger which looks similar (except for the wheels) which is also a great flyer. And you are right, for beginners the Reflex gyro makes a world of difference I.e. no crashes! Just ordered mine, looking forward to flying it.
@RCVideoReviews Жыл бұрын
The Ranger is excellent. We did a number of videos on that plane too.

Looking into getting one of these RTF as a beginner. Instead of going full spend on a more expensive dx6e or comparable. But; do the flaps on this radio only have 90 degrees or off? Or is there an intermediate setting? Can’t seem to find this info. Thanks guys!!

Hi John, Nice flight from the PA-18. The 90% off 800mm Easy Trainer arrived. Wish it was the RTF version and also the 1450mm one. Stay safe.

I put a 12x6.5 eolo prop on mine and made big difference. Buddy Rc has then pretty cheap.

Great video! Clear and understandable narration. Cool plane but I would prefer to use my Spektrum NX6 radio. I don't know if it would bind to that plane or not?
@RCVideoReviews Жыл бұрын
You would have to replace the receiver. Spektrum won't bind with the Rx in the plane. So look at the PnP version instead.

I love this plane. Looks like a great flyer. Really would like the 1700mm but $$$. Will it take a 4S?
@RCVideoReviews Жыл бұрын
Not sure if it will take 4s. I gifted it to a subscriber's son after the video was made.

Thanks for the video. What kind of lipo do use on this plane to reach the 9 minutes ?
@RCVideoReviews6 ай бұрын
4s 2650 from Turnigy. Liperior makes a good one in this size too.

Can I use my FlySky Fs-i6 to bind its receiver?
@BillKisel Жыл бұрын
Would an intermediate RC Pilot get much out of this plane or do you see it as mostly a beginner plane?
@RCVideoReviews Жыл бұрын
It's not going to challenge an intermediate pilot. That said, I still keep a couple of planes like this around when I want to just relax and cruise around a little.

Got this plane today en noticed the prop shaft has a slight angle. Is this normal? The shaft it self is straight.

Yup. They're usually down and to the right.

Greetings, will this aircraft’s installed electronics be compatible with Spectrum transmitter ?
@johneastman19057 ай бұрын
I think I just found my answer here in the comments, will need a Spectrum receiver, preferably on with the SAFE feature, I fly a 1946 J3-85 on skis FUN !

I'm new to the hobby and I just bought this plane in RTF and I was wondering what the range is for the transmitter?
@RCVideoReviews8 ай бұрын
I didn't actually do a range test, but for LOS (line of sight) it was perfectly adequate. Is it the FlySky Rx? If so, they make good RF gear.

Maybe consider the PnP and get yourself a Radiomaster Pocket and ER6 receiver? www.fmshobby.com/products/fms-1300mm-pa-18-with-reflex-v2?ref=CRkhkr2kejCFSR

Get the pnp and spend some money on a decent radio.

It’s hard to tell if this is easy to fly, or it’s the years of experience.
@RCVideoReviews Жыл бұрын
There is a section where I show the radio in the air while the plane is flying straight and level at 50%. My experience didn't help in that segment. This is a docile little plane though. Orientation is easy. Takeoffs and landings are easy. So, I'm going with--easy flying plane.
