These videos are the best resource I have come across for Boeing CDU operation. Now I can understand what I see others doing and not have to try and infer the behaviors.

Great Andrew, I try to make it so folks can have a working knowledge and thus more enjoyment from the simulation experience. I do have quite a few real pilots use my videos as prep prior to their entering their airline training on the jet as well, though my aim is at the online airline simulation enthusiast...

What software is being used to show these CDU exercises please?

These CDU exercises are from PMDG 747 software which at that time was run on P3D v4

Great tutorials but the cockpit sound is detracting from the presentation.

Love your video content and enjoy learning about the B744 And B748. Maybe it's just me but while in the virtual cockpit the ambient/environmental noise is so loud and distracting that I am unable to watch for more than five or ten minutes. Maybe someone might know of a way to filter the sound.

Some of the earlier videos were really bad with that, if you can do me a favor and watch like takeoff or landing videos done within the last 3 months and tell me if that is a lot better, I will consider re-doing those videos you are referring to if you let me know which ones, the CDU exercises would be one of those. I can certainly do an updated version and I think it would be more accurate with the Aerowinx 747-4, which I will have access to soon...

I have watched several of your more recent videos and they are great. I personally fly a Great Lakes, an open cockpit biplane, so am quite familiar with noisy cockpits. How noisy are the flight decks on airliners? Are headsets necessary all the time?

@@davidgubert1883 Now that is flying, nothing between your eyes and open air. Some of my best memories are in a Piper Cub with the windows open or a Stearman on a beautiful day. Always wished I owned one of those. OK, I will look at a redo on some of the more noisy early videos, including this one where I got complaints. I always thought jets would be really quiet compared to piston props, but they are actually quite noisy. It is mainly fan and air noise. While you don't need headsets, most of us wear them, I definitely hear better with them than competing with the noise of rushing air at the tip of a tube...

I appreciate your efforts, videos like yours really help while being stuck at home during the virus outbreak. I was to have flown down to SunNFun, I live in Michigan, then complete my checkout in the Curtis P-40 while down there. Maybe later in the year. For now there is the sim and local flying.
