I invite your thoughts on video length. Would you prefer to see this much driving in future, or a more abbreviated montage to save 10 or 15 mins of watching? Thanks!
@WestyCoastHermitКүн бұрын
Personally, I like this length of video. When I'm considering purchasing a truck, like I am with this FMS LC80, I like seeing it in a variety of terrain as it will give me a better understanding of how it performs. I don't get the same amount of information from a shorter length review and quick drive. Plus, your videos often include beautiful landscapes and wildlife that I would hate to see cut out if your videos were shorter. Ha.

I enjoyed seeing the competition course and how you drive the truck through it, new to me so I didn't notice the video length it kept my attention. if you lose the fancy body clip in the front, the chassis probably has a servo mount hiding underneath it same as the Blazer.

I’m fine with the length, because you keep it interesting and focused. Never seen a video where a stock out of box truck, minus tires, is thrown into comp, and we see the whole run. Excellent way to showcase truck. You’re my crawler guy, to check in with before any purchase. Keep up great content!

Very interesting, I ordered this from Aliexpress two days ago and was looking forward to this video, but I couldn't wait. I also got a Yikong YK4102Pro a few days ago. I consider both to be what I hope good trail trucks, but still want a more capable crawler, I've been looking into the recommendations you gave me a couple of weeks ago, and am down to either the Element Ecto, although I'm not sure whether to consider the standard or the one with portal axles, and the Cross RC EMO AT4V as it's a build kit and I'd enjoy that. I now find you my go to for reviews of cars now Craig, I enjoy your videos and the length is fine, you give a comprehensive run down on the cars and a good run of the cars so we can really see what they have to offer. To see this stock (other than wheels) on a competition course was great, it exposed a couple of issues, mainly front and rear bumpers, and I can see how resolving these alone would make it much more capable. The ESC being weak is a shame, is there an alternative that would allow to keep the transmitter? Perhaps the same brand receiver combined with the WP1080 ESC? Didn't see anything on the FairRC website though. Thanks again for more great work, really enjoying your videos, watched a few hours of them now.
@RCTNTКүн бұрын
Emo and Ecto are quite different. I suspect you'll get more out of the Emo, if I've got an accurate feel for what you're into. The build will be good, too. I'm really glad this stuff has been helpful to you 👍 There's currently no way to get a BS compatible receiver that isn't in an OEM channel in an RTR package. But give it time, I think they'll surface on Ali and Amazon before too long, hopefully!
@67daffy23 сағат бұрын
Indeed my go to as well.
@WorkInLight21 сағат бұрын
@@RCTNT Gotta admit, the EMO looks good too, the only thing putting me off is finding the bits that aren't supplied, think I need the servos and what have you, but it's just something else to look into and get sorted, it's all good for me to learn as I go. I could get the AT4 but it isn't a build and I want to paint the body too, I do like the older style truck but it's seems you can't have everything and compromise is required. And at the end of the day, if they both drive well, you can't go wrong. I have a Radiomaster MT12 but know it doesn't bind to everything, and I am still very much a novice at programming it. Then again, I have receivers and that transmitter, so may as well get an ESC and bite the bullet?

@WorkInLight yeah it'll be compatible. And the AT4 comes with a clear body. I painted mine.

Thanks, Craig. Great idea just throwing it right on the comp course. It did pretty well too, and it looks amazing doing it. Really shows what it can, and can't do, and what it's good for. :) When they launched it I tried ordering one from FMS. 300 bucks was a steal, but of course, they only shipped to the US. I ended up buying a couple more small scale crawlers instead, a Furitek Katana and an FMS FCX24M Discovery. The FCX24M has been amazing, and looks amazing too. Just as well, I guess. I don't really have room for more 10th scale crawlers. Especially once the one I won during the Crawler Canyon livestream shows up. ;)

2:28 would you get bonus points for having aus licence plates AND maybe personalized ones? You can make your own stickers/decals. If you wanted to go apeshit, you could put "objects in the rearview mirror may appear closer than they are" and vin number plates on the frame, axles etc. Also UPC or QE codes like real autos. Put a sticker under the windshield on the dash with a vin.

Could have been a bit slower but I think it was pretty much perfect. I ran on 3s. I don't think it would have had the power I wanted at times on 2s. For such a wide useable range low and higher speed, this is pretty good out if the box. It might be a shade better with one less tooth on the pinion. Thanks for the video length feedback, too! Cheers

Great test but some of these obstacles they make you try and go over are insane.Come on guys those aren’t scale climbs.
@RCTNT20 сағат бұрын
I set the courses that morning. They're about on par with higher end of competition for Scale-1 and some of us are practicing for Nats, which we'll be hosting at the end of March in this same location. I was kinda test driving the terrain, too. You need some tough stuff to shake out the results a bit. And if you look at the scores again, you'll see several drivers managed most of the obstacles without major issues. I'd have had near perfect scores on 3 of the 5 courses with my regular comp rig. If they were easier, we'd have a bunch of guys within a point or two of each other! But this illustrates the difference between an out of the box crawler and one that's been built and/or tuned for competition driving.
