@turboomni848Ай бұрын
@@DoRC I did some research and found out it will work well either direction. With the great interior detail of the FJ40 I thought it would be cool to have the camera gimbal in the same place as the driver’s head would be to look around. Nice to find your channel as there really isn’t much out there for 3 axis gimbals in a RC crawler. Hard mounted 0 or 1 axis bashers sure. I’ll let you know how it goes upside down. Or is it right side up???Nice job again!

Awesome build! That LC80 looks like a great choice of rc for fpv for sure. I have a similar thing with a tamiya cc02, runs in all weather and day or night with a lightbar. Double sided mounting tape is really super strong. The thick transparent stuff by 3m or gorilla is what I've tried, both are easy to find. Appreciate the run without those squishy damping ball things. For $100 the radiolink rc6gs will give you massive range.

Hey Do Rc, These videos of yours are the reason I halted all rc car purchases until I get the Fpv stuff😂. I will sacrifice one body to make it work, but I havent decided on a platform yet. These videos are a huge inspiration for me and I will go with a caddx setup as well. Do you think three axis gimbal is necessary for stabilization? The huge thing the 2 axis gimbal has going for it is the compactness factor. What do you think? Really love your channel
@DoRCАй бұрын
I'm not sure. I would have to try It and find out. Honestly I'd go with the three axis

I orderd the FMS LC80 looking at some of the review videos it looks like the front quick release body mount system they went with will completely block the ability to install a servo winch, and also looks like there is not enuff room on the front bumper for the standard bumper mount winch?? 2nd I have not heard anyone state if the esc and/rx is an all in one system or seperate, if all in one system it will make installing a brushless motor such as the 2-in-1 fusion an expensive option because you will have to swap out the radio t/x r/x. awesome video I just fell in love with the fpv system here

@DoRCАй бұрын
Unfortunately probably not. You might be able to get away with one of the ones with fewer axes but even that would be pretty tight
@BellaT-nu4vvАй бұрын
Very cool! Still I wish that there is a way of setting the gimbal only two axis too though, because in this way it would be more realistical. However, the version you use in the video has the advantage of making driving easier surely Btw, by sticking an airtag or a smarttag to the rig it can be tracked on map hence getting disoriented won't be a problem anymore
@DoRCАй бұрын
You can get a two-axis gimbal of the same type. I think in the configuration software you can disable axes on this as well.

That fpv set up is super cool. I now want one of those Having plenty of crawlers to attach that to I don’t really need the knock off traxxas rig ( and when I say knock off there’s many similarities in this trans set up motor mounting system that’s nearly identical) Cool truck for a budget as you get a good bit of truck for less then the traxxas sport cost which is their base entry level truck However that fpv I’ve never seen one aside some videos and for that price if it’s a decent system that’s not terrible (tbh I’ve got 5th scale wheels I paid that much for without tires ) maybe Santa will bring me one lol
@DoRCАй бұрын
For sure. For me a two-speed transmission is required. I don't really do hardcore rock crawling so being able to go faster down the trail is important. For 300 bucks this definitely gives you a lot.

Hey, I hope you’re well. I have the same setup and I’m having some issue with the wiring and power supply. Could you explain a bit more what you did around the 8 minute mark? Which wires did you connect where and how did you get them to the same power supply? Thanks!
@DoRCАй бұрын
The gimbal and VTX both have cables that plug into them which have a black and red wire. Those black and red wires are the wires that power them. All you need to do is combine both black wires and both red wires and then somehow get power to them from any 2 to 6s battery. I soldered them to a 2S balance lead extension. You can get the balance lead extension pin outs with a Google search just be really careful that you actually wire them correctly because you might damage the systems if you wire them backwards.
@LoolapaloglambufАй бұрын
@ so in theory, I take the connect the 4 cable connector from the gimbal to the VTX (white and gray), I take the red and black from the same connector and connect them to the red and black of the VTX power supply, I could crimp all 4 and connect them to a JTC XH connector right?

Yep. Head tracking is done in the goggles transmitted via the goggles straight to the VTX and then the VTX controls the gimbal. It is definitely the most simple head tracking FPV setup you can get

How easy would an ELRS receiver swap be with this setup?
@DoRC23 күн бұрын
Other than the lights it would be very easy. It's only three channels and I think the ELRS receiver is four channels. Unfortunately the light signal comes out of like a custom channel on the receiver and so unless you got to receiver that had enough channels for all of the lights and then program them into HTX to work properly You're only other option would just be to power them directly and have them on all the time which wouldn't be too bad either.
@garrettenglish609423 күн бұрын
@ I wouldn’t care if the lights were always ON. I guess the original setup could be left in place and ELRS added with option to swap back to original Tx/Rx? Hoping to get this set up for some long range with DJI O3

Hi this product isn't gimbals ?? Is it good for stabilisation ?? I'm looking for a good stabilisation system to run RC car but I don't want to invest in a whole DJI or Walksnail gimbals system. Walksnail/DJI gimbals are really good but you have to buy the Walksnail/DJI vtx and goggles, this solution is really expensive. I want to install analog camera. Storm32 seems not to be an easy solution sometimes it works sometimes not. Do you have a product to suggest for analog gimbals ?
@DoRCАй бұрын
Unfortunately I don't. I've tried several different analog gimbal solutions over the years and none of them are really very good. Unfortunately analog development isn't really happening anymore so I wouldn't expect to see anything like this for analog come out anytime soon. That being said whereas this gimbal is expensive the rest of the hardware really isn't that bad. Yeah you're going to spend a little bit more for the VTX and camera but the goggles are only a couple hundred bucks. If you haven't really had much experience with digital I'd recommend giving it a try because it is absolutely worth the money

@@emmanuelcheveau4891 ah ok. Yeah at this time there isn't an option for the HD 0 system. The gimbal will work standalone and I believe you can reset its zero position through a PWM signal So you technically could do it with your RC transmitter and then figure out how to adapt an HD zero camera onto it. It probably wouldn't be that hard though I don't think anybody's done it before

Normalize magnetic light connectors and clipless bodies please. No more clips in 2025 how about ? Too much to ask ?
@boduke9428Ай бұрын
Do you have a Xmaxx? I'm guessing not. I hated clipless bodies because of mine. I nearly hate the Xmaxx because of it. If it holds the body on as well as body clips I'm OK with it. My Mojave Grom for example. The self removing clipless bodies like my Xmaxx are horrible and putting in 4 body clips would be much faster and easier than stopping dozens of times while bashing to chase the truck down and put the body back on. On slow tame vehicles clipless is great. I just want the system that that keeps the body on till I take it off.
@DoRCАй бұрын
Definitely don't judge clipless on the X-Max. That was basically the first try at clipless and it wasn't very good. Manufacturers have gotten a lot better at it since then
