Great video Don, I love the big Ranger but because I fly off a bumpy long grass field!! I don't think the tricycle landing gear would cope, but I know it's a great flying plane!! I see you've treated yourself to the Super Cub now that one I do know about Lol it's a big plane as well did you get that with the Reflex Gyro? Your going to have fun with the Cub!! And it goes together like a dream, I look forward to seeing it fly👍😄

Hello Ian....The ranger is a really relaxing plane to fly. 3D Dave just purchased one and he said going to fly off his grass in his backyard and it's pretty bumpy back there. Will be able to see how tough that gear is off of grass. Watching your awesome Cub videos , one of the reason I purchased it. Amazon had a 20% off black Friday sale on some FMS planes so was not going to let that slip by. As for the gyro, not sure yet because I did not unpack it from the box. Thanks Ian

Well presented Don. It is a very similar, slightly smaller than my E-flite Cessna 150 Z and is also a great flyer. I removed the spats off to allow for longer grass & soft sand landings. I have not been able to get two Reflex gyros to work on my Avanti V3 so I have used an old Spektrum 636 pre set with safe from my Viper & works great.

Snowing!!! I just watched the Petrenic bros fly their viper with ski’s attached in the snow, a real Christmas card look. Here with summer, it is too windy to fly. I have 2x AR630 receivers & programmed them with safe. Enjoy that FMS Cub!

I decided to buy this plane after flying 6 RTF small planes. basically this will be my 1st big plane and will bind with TX16S. Hopefully I can practice well with this plane with gyro off so that later can fly EDF jet. Happy to hear you said this plane is very strong and well made. Mine still in the box will unbox soon. Mine did not come with the reflex gyro and it fly's great. It doesn't need a Gyro.

It all depends on where you purchased the plane from, I purchased mine from banggood and it came with a Gyro. I’m going to disagree with you on the Gyro because I fly in very windy conditions and it does help.

Hey how’s it going, and thanks for watching. Mine was pre-mounted in the center facing up. The CG is very forgiving in his plane so wherever your mount it doesn’t really matter. I really believe this plane doesn’t even need a Gyro as when it’s on with the factory settings the surface movement is very minimum. It seems to fly the same with the Gyro on or off. Even in extreme wind. Hope that helps if you have any more questions just let me know I’d be happy to answer. Have a great weekend and holiday.

Hello Mr.Don. I have a question for you. When you assembled Fms Ranger 1800mm, you attached Reflex Gyro and Spektrum AR620 as I remember. So, you should have attached AR620 from 1ch to 6ch as follow: Ch1: Throttle Ch2: Aileron Ch3: Elevator Ch4: Rudder Ch5: Gyro Selection from Reflex Ch6: Flap If then like these, which channel did you put the light servo? Ch5 or Ch6 which channel is better? If you answer my question, I will be appreciated your kindness.

Hi Flanker. If you purchased the plane without the reflex gyro then you don’t have to reassign anything. If it came with the fms reflex gyro the you have to reassign the channels to match the gyro. It’s because the spectrum receiver channels are different from the gyro channels and there’s no way to change the gyro channels so you have to change in the radio. I can’t check now because I’m moving but for example if the elevator on the gyro says channel 3 and the elevator on the spektrum receiver is channel 4 you have to change it in the radio so channel 3 is your elevator. If you don’t the gyro will not work properly. I hope that helps. Dx9 manual will show you how to reassign channels. Hit me back if you have more questions. Thanks

Hi Dan, I’ll do my best to try to explain it to you. First you need a six channel receiver, the reason why is you need one of those channels to control the Gyro. Gyro has three functions, on, off and safe mode. I’m not sure what transmitter you are using but if it’s spektrum you’re going to have to use channel assign to match the channels on the Gyro. There is a manual out there on the reflex gyro. If you search for it on Google you should be able to find it. Just remember that the radio channels have to match the channels on the Gyro, that’s about it my friend. If you’re still having problems, let me know and I’ll try to help further. Hello, the flight envelope on this plane would make it perfect for floats. I know the floats from the Eflite maule M7 and the Fms PA 17 cub fit perfect. You could buy one of those planes to get the floats for free... Thanks so much for your comment, really appreciate it. 👍👍👍👍
