Unlike some other brands, I like how the gyro is not only "optional use" but also optional to buy. They just need to make a bare airframe kit to complete the range of options.

I have to tell you the price is right for what you get. I looked into those through your link. It's pretty good, but again really to clarify amount of control surface throw versus relative position on the horns and the servos. The closer you bring the rod in on the servo to the center point or the fulcrum point of the servo. It's less movement. However, if you put the control ride on the flight surface and you move it inward you get more movement for the same amount of control rod throw that always seems to be said the wrong way. Maybe it's just the way you're stating it. I'm not sure but look into it. It's the way we adjusted them years ago. I'm 65 and we didn't have expo and we didn't have throttle endpoint adjustments and throw adjustments on the radios. We had to manually move in and out of the three or four holes available on the control horns. The farther out you moved it. Yes you got more precision and more torque but you got less movement. If you moved it inward you would get less sensitivity to control less torque but more movement. I think if you look into that, you'll find that I'm correct.

There are several philosophies to it. I prefer more torque and precision by going IN on the servo horn, OUT on the control surface horn & increasing the actual travel of the servo in the radio... This is ALWAYS more than enough travel for most flyers with max precision and torque for HIGHER SPEED Flight! You want to set it OPPOSITE for LOWER speed and 3D flying where maneuverability at slower speeds is the objective... Most don't tell you that:) You really want to set it up for the type of flying you want to do!

Great video Rich and Steve. Everyone needs a warm up plane. Really nice beginner value for both planes. The FairRC bluejay is actually cheap, in price only, for what you get (expo would be a plus). Nice to see Steve on the sticks. Good stuff Rich, AirHammer out!! :)

@hermanoolanchano343 I'm not aware of an upgrade for it.... However, when your taxing, hold your elevator stick back to help keep the weight off the nose strut... That will help a little... As you accelerate on grass, ease up the back pressure on the stick as you accelerate so you do not takeoff too slow & stall... it will take off nicely.

I bought two RTF Blue Jays for $99 ea durring FairRCs black friday sale. One is still NIB :). I just wish the BlueJay did a little better on graphic details like the windows but other than that, it's a great plane. I also have the Ranger and it flies just like the BlueJay, it just looks a little nicer.

One thing in terminology I disagree with .the more inner you move a connector to the horn..the more the movement of the control surface..farther away from the control surface ( outer of the horn) there's less movement for the same travel of the servo rod .
