Great job Derek. The Fusion SE's a great choise. Grease is essential, too.😊

RTR and near to no grease, the Gladius all over again. What a pain to change a motor, one of the hardest out there and I do not have worse. The diffs were easy.
@hollyhillrc9 ай бұрын
It's not good is it. Hopefully changing the motor and greasing the gears won't be a regular job.

@@hollyhillrc With all that grease should be Ok for a very long time. Been in the loft and got a couple of older Tamiya cars out. They were in boxes but still need a lot of cleaning, muck it creeps in somehow.

That is one gorgeous kit, Derek! The tires, body, yellow headlights, all of it, beautiful! Great call on the HW 2-in-1 Motor/esc. Gotta love the way RC tech is going! :)

Thank you Fil. The body on this is so good and the detail is excellent. Even better than the CC-01 Jeep Wrangler YJ which is one of my favourite Tamiya hard bodies. The electronics do need upgrading though to change it from an OK trail RC to a great trail RC. The HW was cheap to buy from Ali Ex and was delivered in 6 days. I was impressed with that.

Hi Paul. I've only just seen your message on RCplamodel's comment. That's excellent news about Seb, and I really appreciate you telling me about it. Many congratulations for second place in the SoCal Cup. You must be a very proud Dad. I can see plenty of success ahead for him with his new team as a right winger, and hopefully his coach will encourage him be strong and continue into the box and get a few goals for himself when the opportunity's there ⚽🏆⚽

Great Stuff Derek!! I also notice that not only is your grease waterproof...... But It is Salt-Water proof. That is major!!! Naturally I keep everything well greased and lubed, like yourself. But I was very surprised to see zero grease in these diffs AND gearing for the transmission. For people like ourselves? No Problem, usually. but some Kid gets this and one run through a little water? Rust will start pretty quick. Enjoyed the video Derek. Just this past week I did a big tear down on the Red Cherokee and did the same sort of thing. Thumbs up here my friend

I was saying the same thing to Angie when she asked why I was taking apart a brand new RC. I don't understand why the manufacturer would do that, or not do that in this case. There's a lot of marinas locally, so good marine grease can be bought from the chandleries there. Sometimes I run my RC's along the coastline near the waters edge so hopefully it will protect them if they do unintentionally get wet.

Hi Derek, nice video mate! I was surprised by the lack of grease on those gears but you did the right thing and made it as it should be. That motor is very interesting, looking forward to hear what you think of it. All the best my friend! 😎👍

They say the Fusion se is fantastic,will be exciting to hear your opinion. I ordered one for installing in my Milytary tipper truck,HG P803,but the electronic on these HG vehicles is a bit " tricky",so i hope i manage to do it on my own,if not i have helpers 😉😊.

Any reason you chose the 1200kv. I’m doing the leaf spring conversion and was thinking about using the 1200 to reduce the odds of the leafs breaking or bending. Any thoughts?
@hollyhillrc7 ай бұрын
Hi, I got the 1200kv because I have an 1800kv in my FMS Toyota Land Cruiser FJ40 and I wanted to see what the difference is. I haven't run either yet but a friend of mine has both too and he said the 1200kv is noticeably smoother at the low end, especially on a straight axle rig, and the 1800kv is perfect for a portal axle rig due to the added gear reduction portals have. I'm sorry but I don't have any experience with the Fusion and leaf springs. But there's this video which someone has put a Fusion in the 1.6 FMS Jimny which has the same chassis as the Mashigan with leaf springs. kzbin.info/www/bejne/qqCZmXiwfs9sbKs It looks ok on the test run but I wouldn't know how the leaf springs would be after long term use. Sorry I couldn't be more helpful.

It's a bit shocking that the transfer box was totally ungreased. Still, this is s lucky RC, as it happened to be bought by you!
@hollyhillrc9 ай бұрын
Thank you very much Del. It is strange why a company would do such a thing. There are a lot of videos showing this on KZbin now, so maybe they will address this problem with their future releases.
