FMS has finally stepped UP their game! Over a year ago, servos were plastic gear, analog. NOW everything (that has been upgraded to the useless to ME, reflex v2), they upgraded their electronics! (I always yank the reflex's out. If u need a free reflex, LMK!😝). I've liked fms since my 1st plane, the super ez. 👍

Rich I did find out what was causing the beeping on this ESC, there's 3 plugs on this ESC. Throttle, rev throttle and programme plug. I had to plug the yellow rev throttle cable into a spare port in the RX for the beeps to stop and have the motor work. However if u don't want Rev thrust you STILL NEED it plugged in. Means I need a 7 ch RX which is a bummer as I only have 1x 10ch. Did you need to also plug the rev thrust plug into a ch too? I couldnt see your RX close enough. Cheers

Rich when you changed the esc to the 120A was there any need to add the additional BEC to it? Isn't the inbuilt one sufficient? Cheers
@RCINFORMER2 жыл бұрын
Yes it is sufficient. Sometimes testing something like this it's a good idea to have a separate power system for the receiver, in case something happens to the power system...

Hi Rich, Can you please show the location of the CG on scorpion in one of your videos? The manual is a bit confusing as it is not clear whether it is measured from where wings attach to the wing root (already part of the fuse) or is from the actual wing root where it meets the fuse. Really appreciate it. Hassan

Rich I'm not sure if you could help me on an issue with this 120A esc? I've installed it into my Eflite 90mm viper and all I'm getting is a beeping every 1 second. Their trouble shoot says it could be input voltage is too high but im using 2x4s lipos and I'm getting the 8 beeps at the beginning. After that it's just them beeps every second. All the control surfaces work just no power to the motor. Calibrations been done. Any help is appreciated. Cheers.

Try lowering your throttle TRIM, then recalibrate and see if expanding the throttle range makes it boot. which radio are you using?

@@RCINFORMER using the NX10. How much would you say I should lower the throttle trim by?
@M4rkmcc212 жыл бұрын
Tried lowering to -20, then calibrated the throttle again but still regular 1 second beeps. I tried a 6s lipo, 6 beeps then the same beeping as when I uses the 2x4s lipos.

Hey, Rich! I have been working on modifying a 70mm F16 from Freewing. I did not change the weight or distribution or CG or power system with my modifications. The only difference besides swapping nozzles, is a larger battery. I used to have a manageable 6:7 thrust to weigh ratio. Now it is 3:5 thrust to weight. The weight did change switching from 4000 mah to 4500 mah, but not much. The point is I need to lose weight in battery size or get more power. I'm using a FMS 3060 - KV 1900 in runner with their 12 blade fan assembly and 80A Predator ESC. It is getting me 2 lb 15 oz to 3 lb 1 oz of thrust. The plane weighs around 5 pounds with the 4500 mah pack. Do you know of any better performing power systems? I'd love a 4-5 minute max flight time. I was really pushing my 4000 packs with that time frame and lost some batteries (but luckily made it safe to the runway with no taxi power) that way. I could settle for lighter packs and just fly shorter flights, but there must be some other options right?
@RCINFORMER2 жыл бұрын
Mostly just modulate you throttle. It's hard to get more than a few minutes out of any EDF.
@cwwisk2 жыл бұрын
@@RCINFORMER yeah. I definitely understand that... I need some light batteries anyway for some more aggressive flight styles anyway. I was really hoping the 4500's weren't too heavy, but I guess that was a little ambitious.
