What a dope looking rifle. FN’s reluctance to support these on the civilian market is a shame.

You can buy an entry level motorcycle for the price of this gun and the FIRST OPTIC WHICH IT WILL ALMOST CERTAINLY BREAK due to it's "Tuning Fork" trait. Buy the motorcycle instead, more useful and it will give you more actual use. That said I almost applaud the contempt FN shows to fanboys via the ludicrous price. A fool and his money soon part and very often should part.

The motorcycle will be a depreciating asset and more likely to kill you than then the rifle, but I agree with you on everything.

Today, coming back from the range , I got over 1000 rounds on my Scar 16, 17, 20 and can report no issues what so ever took 2 years to get it all done. I spent 6 years running and gunning in the USMC. Honestly, a lot of people that buy pricey weapons, baby the hell out of them. The more they pay the worst it gets. Just slam the magazine in, it's a instrument of death, she'll be alright. I got the 20s in 6.5 and 762 NATO, both versions run fine. My SCARs all have instructions on shooting suppressed, if you ever have an issue just tell FN you followed the instructions line by line and they'll help you if you need it. This wives tales that FN won't do anything about shooting with suppressors was just made by people that don't even own them, or there buddy that owns one told them they won't support there weapon but they also leave a lot of other details out and people then run to internet and leave out stuff like they damaged the barrel when removing the muzzle break because they don't know they are doing, they don't or didn't clean this precision rifle correctly. I even know of people that were drunk and at the range and they put 6.5 in 762 barrel or vice versa then they tired to get a RMA with this fairytale about suppressors because they can't afford a $1800 replacement part and they go on forums and youtube crying about it.

If youre new to rifles or brakes: I installed a Xeno brake on my ARs to run a can (DA recommends brakes even though i dont like them) and the first time i fired with the brake my gun didnt move. Its a 12.5 carbine so it normally has a bit of a sharp, if relatively minor, jump to it. Brass went out the side, my hair moved in the muzzle blast, the range went quiet for a moment, but the rifle stayed damn near perfectly still. Brakes can make you feel like you should be shouting "backblast area clear" with every shot, but they do 100% work as advertized. I cant personally recommend them but only because they tend to work too well.

FN explicitly says they won't warrantee suppressed scars. The civilian model has different gas jets than the mk20. Good call with the scarburetor. The stock gas valve will destroy the receiver. And agreed, the stock pisses me off too

I wish other companies would build semi-auto rifles with CHROME LINED 6.5 Creedmoor barrels. My AR10 has a chrome lined barrel from Criterion that has around 7K rounds on it. It still shoots as tight as the day it was brand new. Having said that, I don't abuse my rifle but I don't baby it either. I love their chrome line hybrid profile barrel so much I'm willing to shoot 308 because they don't make a chrome lined 6.5 barrel.
