Five Nights at Freddy's has had MANY characters! Through the years we've gone from possed animatronics to sentient animatronics, so how exactly did this impact the FNaF series? Well, in this video I (attempt) to go over it all and figure out if it was a good move or not to stray away from what made the franchise so popular.

Well, that's one side of her, I like to think cb has 2 parts to her personality, one being baby, helping you through the nights so she can make sure everyone can escape, and Elizabeth, the bad side trying to kill you for herself and sticking you in a springlock suit.

I think the GlamRocks having personalities especially bombastic ones are perfect for them because think about it. They are characters in a franchise for children. Someone would relate to Monty being called dumb and a brute but idols his strength Girls could relate to how awesome Roxy is but have insecurites of their own (also love how that simple personality has depth underneath when they are ruined) Now if these where the Haunted Animatronics then yeah..... they should be so bombastic in the same way they should be sad, angry, or Insaine.

I don't think it's genius or dumb. I prefer most newer characters to have voices, I don't mind if it takes away some of the scariness, despite the horror being the thing that got me into FNaF I always enjoyed the idea of them being actual mascots and I'm glad they're finally growing out of them just being scary robots being there mostly for gameplay. I prefer seeing the functionality of the pizza places more than the horror a lot more, so I really like stuff like voice acting because it's something they'd all logistically have. For the stuff steelwool wants to do voice acting is pretty much required. Imo you can make a glamrock character scary but only so much, it's better for them to be slightly threatening on the surface instead of over the top murder machines like sister location's cast, the security breach characters are the ones looking for you, there's no possession or anything so why wouldn't they have voice lines if they're ai?

I like the characters with the scary parts in there too, like Ballora, YIKES! Scary spider lady with perfect horror and voice acting, same with the goat kellen goff as funtime freddy, scary voice, scary character, but hes a character and not just a monster. But sun, hooray, perfect voice, but not much horror factor to him aside from hide unwavering blank eyed almost psycho smile, and then you have glamrock endo, pure horror with not much voice going for it. Don't ask why I'm ao scared of these monstrosities

It's true that one's personality (whether minimal or overly done) can indeed take away the scariness. Since IRL animatronics have little to no personality towards humans, creating the sensation of being less scary when left alone around them. The issue with the Security Breach animatronics is that their overly-done personalities make them less scary, leaving someone to drop their guard and lead to a false sense of security (which might be great for IRL situations, but not for a "horror" game). As long as a character's personality is made right, the outcomes of how you see one as scary are correct.

How do you feel about the voicelines of "Corrupted Shattered Freddy" that got cut from SB? Seems like the majority of the fandom deem him the scariest antagonist we could have gotten as Kellen Goff nailed how he sounded genuinely threatening.

I actually really like the SB animatronics due to their personalities along with many others, They are pretty much the most praised thing about Security Breach as most people seem to love them, Yes it does make them less scary, But I don't care, I'm happy they went with something different, Monty is my favorite FNAF character of all time and I love that you mentioned that "You can hide! BUT YOU CAN'T HIDE!" line, That's the best line in the game lol, I really don't think them having a lot of personality is a bad thing. This is coming from a fan of FNAF since 2014.

I think in the fnaf movie William has already studied remnant and possibly made circus baby’s pizza world to test remnant so he knew he would come back while being spring locked. And also he sees dead kids possessing the animatronics so he knows he will become one like them.

I think we should have more characters that do not speak in steel wool's games. DJ music man would have been so frightening if they didn't give him so much personality in the animations! if dj music man was dirtied up a bit, little to no animations and was in a similar environment as FNAF 1 he would have been 10X more scary.

I think Roxy is defiantly possessed thanks to Ruin DLC and also Roxy's poster her eyes do glow in Security Breach. but I know lots of people believe None of them are possessed so I am not going to beat you up that much But all I'm trying to say is I think Roxy is definitely possessed

3:58 I think you're forgetting the most important interpretations of the characters, the sfm versions, basically across multiple videos. A lot of creators have a unified vision of what most of these characters sound like. Zajcu37 comes to mind

Sister Location was what got me interested in FNAF, even though I'm not a big fan of horror games. I found it amazing how the characters could both scare me and intrigue me with their depth, especially since I really only heard of them as mindless killing machines. The desire to learn more about what was going on far outweighed the fear.

You forgot ruin, where Roxy gives one of the most heartbreaking lines, and eclipse just says one of the best lines ever, and the MIMIIIC kinda sounds creepy with the "I-im gregory..."

Been a bit since i last saw one of your vids. Massive shame you didn’t look at mangle, they are like the main example of voiceline creating a character, if you see this and decide to make a part 2 you need to include mangle, Also you cut Roxy a lot short, like it’s very clear that thr “I’m the best” personality is more of a defence mechanism for themselves, probably defend against the risk of being destroyed by fazbear ent if they aren’t seen to be popular, this would also explain why she collapses halfway though the game and she’s friendly with Cassie because she doesn’t need to have this defence up because she trusts her

Great video, but two things The Monty line you can hide, but you can’t hide was never used in the game, and I believe it was improvised by the voice actor and never scripted for the character and secondly your volume was kind of all over the place it went from way too quiet to way too loud without me ever changing it basically every 30 seconds it would change

Understood for the audio, but I swear I’m now driving myself crazy over that line Monty said. I swear I’ve heard it and can even remember what section of the game being where you are in the main area of the pizzaplex getting to the top floor to put in the music disc while avoiding Roxanne, chica, and Monty. This is where I remember Monty saying the line, but maybe I really did mandela effect myself. Thanks for your feedback though!

Chica went from liking pizza to obsessively eating everything she could find, Roxy when from a confident persona to an arrogant one masking insecurity. Something similar might have exaggerated Monty to the point of being a goofy brute
