Chipper and Son's Lumber Co. is a game I rarely ever see being discussed online, seemingly because there isn't a whole lot of contents to the game. This video took an extra week to make because I got sick and couldn't record audio for 5 days. Also the title calls it a prequel but it's actually a predecessor.

I love this story. His previous game was supposed to be cutesy and such but people put it down, saying the characters looked way too uncanny. And this genius ran with it, making a successful HORROR game next. Absolute big brain move. Very similar to how Conker's Bad Fur Day was made, now that I think about it.

The art style of Chipper and Son's Lumber Co. reminds me a lot of those CG renders of _Donkey Kong Country._ I can see why critics called the game "unintentionally horrifying", because that game later becomes a blue print for a game about scary animatronics that redefined the horror genre.

I honestly quite enjoyed the original Chipper And Sons despite the issues you pointed out. For one I actually found the game pretty funny, and the fact that there’s more objectives at once compared to Tyke And Sons made it feel less grindy to me. As for the visuals, aside from Fun Fungle (whose supposed to be creepy) I honestly don’t see what’s so creepy about how the game looks. As for Tyke And Sons, I quite enjoy it for the night segments, but I actually found the lumber co segments a lot more tedious. The fact that you only had Tykes tasks to do over the original games multi be tasks made it feel more grindy then it actually is, and while I get that this change was done for boss fights, I hate that you have to mash the W key to use the watering can.
