tbf, bind is really cypher's since the start. the narrow paths allow for trips even before his long trip buff and the map is very very small so single scan ult were fine too. oh I guess this applies to split too

nats used to play cypher on bind when he was in M3C, he and deffo (skye) did some creative plays on bind with the his camera spotting enemies and deffo ready to flash them

I’ve seen other val KZbinrs do this, and it looks really nice. I think you could use it. Take a still (not moving) screenshot while the smokes are down, then record the ‘still’ of what the smokes look like while up. Now add opacity to the video of the smokes so show what they’re covering. Much more intuitive than adding a green rectangle over viper smokes imo 8:55

Cypher main here, have to admit that even though he got some buff before, I still feel like his kind of a sentinel is very weak but im happy to see that he gets to be used by some players in the tournaments.

his and penix statistically need buffs bc they have the lowest pick rates. in low elo tho, cypher is good bc he has good map value even if the newbie cant have a kill (and his utils are for passive roles)

Rito are allergic to balancing sentinels well for some reason. Whenever any sentinel agent gets up there in the pickrate they nerf them time and again instead of pushing other sentinels up. Cypher, Killjoy and Chamber have all been nerfed in the past

@@ThyRandomGuy there's a reason riot keeps nerfing them, and it's mainly because passive info is CRAZY broken if you're not coordinated enough to break the trips as a team passive info utility is extremely powerful, and having 0 drawback like an activation range (KJ/chamber), ease of breakage (cypher/chamber), or limited detection avenues (chamber has 1 AoE trip, cypher has 2 choke trips) would make them broken as agents KJ has been nerfed because she only has 1 downside, the activation range. Nerfing info agents is riot's way of responding to the meta + game knowledge developing since release, making the game less about stacking a site based on info, and more about taking gunfights and comboing utility

@@laser_fps there’s a reason why games like cs, r6 and val are called tactical shooters. You need tactics and coordination when playing on both sides, there’s a reason why all sentinels’ utilities can be broken. If they wanted a deathmatch with abilities sentinels as a class shouldn’t’ve existed in the first place. Nerfs as a balance method in isolation aren’t bad by any means, but when it feels like every patch one of the 3 main sentinels gets nerfed time and time again, at this point sentinel mains will be playing csgo in valorant

i would love to see a breakdown video on Less, he has been taking over the scene quietly for the past year and pros who play against him (Asuna, Derke, Demon1, etc) have said how good he is and hes still kind of overshadowed by aspas. He was also the highest rated player in americas playoffs by a pretty wide margin. good video though

Bind easily has been cyphers best map since the split rework. Not only is everything incredibly narrow but there are plenty of funky wire spots mixed with cameras that literally give you more information than a regular peak could. Always been a go to map for cypher for me

Bind is not just Cypher's map, it's Cypher's home, literally, Bind is in Barratt Morocco and Cypher is born there, Bind is Cypher's true home (that was ruined by Kingdom unfortunately)

Cypher has always been a good agent with his buffs. People just don't learn how to play him because his learning curve is high.

While Cypher is great on defence, I don't actually think that is the main reason why he is being played. Looking at the other common compositions being played out, the defensive side is basically never their weakspot. Bind is defence sided in Americas and EMEA (Pacific is a bit weird there with their very different compositions). Cypher, uniquely among sentinels, has no range restrictions on his trips, so he allows his team to play a lot more commited early round setups without immediately sacrificing map control. While every other composition has to start every round in a default or lose flexibility in the midround, Cypher comps do not have to do so. It is a subtle, but very important difference on a map where just getting onto a site is usually way harder than holding the postplant.

I get that cypher being used in pro plays like that suddenly makes a lot of sense. But till high diamond, lower immortal what goes is a total of 3 ways 1.4 attackers push a site with one playing lurk or catch rotate off guard. 2. 2-3 duelists setup rushes a site against smokes and an initiator or sentinel support. 3. No one is serious on pushing into site and takes the path to keep on poking till they secure a kill on an unsuspecting overconfident bloke or the weak links of the defenders. There's no chance that these insane professional level plays can stand a chance with random bluds who doesn't even use a mic to give call outs
