I have tremors most days - mildly, mostly in hands - right side worse. But I get 'episodes' of uncontrollable tremors that don't go away unless medicated. I hate taking meds, but these are so severe that they are exhausting and painful - imagine being strapped on to some kind of running machine at high speed against your will! Still trying to work out triggers/how to manage them. Just lately I've had a couple of firsts: first attack outside with no adult with me, and first attack alone (to begin with) and that didn't respond to my usual dosage. This journey is hard with it's unpredictability. Gotta grab the good moments and enjoy them all the more.

I use amitriptyline and my functional tremor cut by 95%.

You should warn people legally when having flashing split up on editing as it can cause seizures that’s also part of FND.

Noticed I get tremors & bad neuropathy when I have a virus it take antibiotics. Stress is a trigger for sure. Longest one i had was 5 hours. Currently in one arms, hands, neck, hips and I think it's a dual anxiety & chronic pain response. I have to go out in public on Sunday & was worried I will have a tremor in public. When I'm like this & try to eat, it's more yeet than eat 😂 Keep a sense of humour❤ Thank you for your tips. I try to mimic but I need a friend to do it cos I know what I'm about to do, if that makes sense. I'll try the mirror

Thankyou for this video. Do you have any tips for head tremors please?

Hi Vanessa, I don't have much personal experience with head tremors. Aside from trying the general tremor tips, I have heard some other people with FND found head massage can help in the moment, but you need a partner or friend to be there to help!

My tremors are head shake, a real bubblehead ,sometimes its terrible. Since my triger was light i used sunglasses. Tac glasses dit it for me to stop the shaking .the other thing was ordering me to stop. And it would for few minutes ,then hours ,then it stop for 15 months completely. Now im on a relapse and its inçreasing by the day. So the whole process is to be redone. Jenga game all over .:-)

It sounds like your sunglasses help you although the shaking must be horrible. Each day is a new day. Start from the beginning and be kind to yourself Francois!

No tremors at rest but standing and other action tremors and myoclonic jerks. Just went through Mayo rehab without success. Neurologist there says the ataxia and myoclonus are probably organic with functional overlay? Some tools can help in time but once the tremors start there is no going back even with diaphragmatic breathing or body scan for what muscles are turned on or off. I'm "complicated"
@Lentilboots

That's difficult! So you have an organic condition, with functional symptoms on top of that? I'm sorry the neurologist at Mayo couldn't help you more.

Mine go away on their own after a bit and are just brought on by my muscles getting to a certain level of worn out from use. They are way more extreme and intense tremors and they're painful and make my muscles even more tired out, but if I don't get them all out they'll still happen again until my limb is able to relax those muscles. I get them in my legs or my arms. One thing I tried was from one of the official FND websites, don't remember which, but it actually made mine about 10 times worse. But in case it helps anyone, it's to try to create the tremor that is happening with your brain so like try to make your limb do the tremor that it's already doing and then it can help you to gain control of it and make it slow down and then stop.

I would hold my limb if the tremors were in my hand/ arm and touch it with my other hand and say it’s ok is ok and I found that would help quite down the tremor

Can the tremors be more of a muscle spasm? My mum has uncontrollable muscle spasms and the Dr's are still trying to work out why. From looking at the symptoms of fnd my mum appears to have all the symptoms, except she doesnt shake but her limbs can violently lash out
@Lentilboots
@Lentilboots 4 жыл бұрын
They sure can! I would say tremors are a repeated shaking but spasms are more like the muscle flipping out. I talk about spasms in this video here kzbin.info/www/bejne/iJfOfaechZatbZo from about 10min mark And also some tips from the dystonia treatment video might help. kzbin.info/www/bejne/bp3cpHhmft6AkNk A person with FND might have only one type or lots of types of symptoms so you mother could have FND spasms and not tremors :)
