After seven years of FND ( speech problems,seizures,migraines,head jerking, etc) suddenly in the last two months my legs won’t work properly, I can’t walk properly at times I just stagger around… walk backwards…… and yes, it scares me. Right now I don’t have a family doctor or live close to any centres that have help for FND

Yes I get tremors quite out of the blue the first one appearing after a Cardiac stress test done in 2021, I also get them with no warning either with my Hemiplegic migraine attacks,which often come along with the tremors. I was diagnosed with having severe Migraines in 2019 when I had my very first emergency room visit with one. By 2021 though I was diagnosed by a headache Specialist with Hemiplegic/Stroke like migraines but have seen other headache/Neurologist Specialists too giving me the same diagnosis. Only this time I was also diagnosed with essential tremors too. I have on and off from 2018 up to now been experiencing temporary limb paralysis especially if I have a full bladder,worst episode was with no migraine and I went from being on crutches to ending up in a wheelchair last November. This has been a complete mystery for all of my specialists but just last week when I saw a Brain,Spine and pain management Specialist they mentioned that it could be related to FND,which runs in my family. I have to have a few more tests done to rule out anything else though as I have a permanent swelling in my spinal cord tissues along with compression of the lower spine. A long term injury after I took a fall from my horse 35 plus years ago. Running sets off the tremors too along with any sudden movement or startle responses in my body so thank you for doing this video.

Hi. I'm a new here just been diagnosed with FND. Have had it for 10 months. Only just found out what it is I have been diagnosed with. My Symptom started after a back injury. I now stuttering every day, and some days are bad. I have moments when I just blank out and forget what I was doing or going and feel really overwhelmed for no reason. I have had many of symptoms over the time and only now Starting to see that they were my FND. This video I saw today was great. I been told that knowledge and understanding is the first part of recovery. Has anyone ever made full recovery or is this going to be a an up and down problem. Hi Lenny, Oh goodness - I completely relate! I always want to ask if others have had a certain symptom, so I'm glad you also do this! I have funnily enough had a twitching lower eyelid for the past 3 days & it is making me 'arghhhh' - who would have thought that a tiny eyelid could cause so much annoyance!! Hoping it doesn't last much longer :-) Also, I'm puzzled because I get what I call 'jelly legs' where my legs suddenly feel extremely shaky & trembly both inside and out. I have put it down to an anxiety symptom but now that you have mentioned your shivery legs & FND, I wonder if mine is the same...?

Jennifer Marsh thanks for your comment! Yes those twitchy eyelids just have to go away on their own and try to manage your sleep cause “regular people” have told me they get twitchy eyes from exhaustion. I think the wobbly legs is an FND symptom but I haven’t heard of any functional movement problems that people with just mental illness/without FND have. Have you noticed any trigger for when it starts? My gait disorder/wonky walk came on randomly and I didn’t know when it would happen.

Hi Lenny, thank you for your reply! My eye twitching has lessened considerable today which is awesome :-) What I have the most trouble with is knowing what to attribute to my panic/anxiety disorder and what to class as FND... I understand what you are saying about not hearing of anyone with functional movement problems with mental illness/no FND... The wobbly/jelly legs thing is hard to pin down to a trigger as my anxiety/panic is quite constant, so it could be a trigger or not...haha, I hope that makes sense...the two are obviously very intertwined in my case which is frustrating for me trying to figure it all out..

New here. Have had Eleplisy for years and now that they are saying it's this but as I am so new to this. I have a feeling of ants running under the skin all the time. I have intense medical problems and trauma so I am wondering if that is the issue.

I just started getting muscle pain and weakness as a new symptom and I have no clue what triggered it ahhhh

Sometimes we don't know what triggers it! I seem to get muscle/nerve pain when I've overdone it and I'm fatigued. Weakness - I have no idea what caused it!

@@Lentilboots yeah seams it's the autism causing it all brain stomach etc all different and pyroles.ive read paperwork saying fnd is comorbid with autism 91 percent even if the only fnd symptom is migraine.do you have hypomobility heds?

@@Truerealism747 oh really? That's very interesting. I'm waiting for autism assessment myself. I'll make a video about it soon. I don't have hypermobility, but it seems EDS/hypermobility is very common in people who also have FND.
