the darkness can corrupt previous episodes in the past shown in the teaser of pibby, so i think this is before he lost his arm edit: nvm, in Mindless, he still has his robot arm but in the middle of the song he magically grabs his robotic arm and the arm turns into a sword?? and the corruption is flowing through the arm that he was missing, so its finn, but the true finn is most likely gone, the corruption has already taken over him fully

OK to answer this while the darkness can corrupt a show it can do so at any episode airing on tv so it could be any episode but it can make the character go through any of the character designs its had in the shows that means if you were to watch the last episode of adventure time for example he would first be normal but the darkness can basically corrupt the character to its other past designs but in reality we will never know now since pibby is not happening its been turned down a few days ago :(

My little headcanon is that this is the culmination of the corruption. A character has been corrupted for so long that their bodies have bonded with it, making them resemble the character more closely, and essentially becoming the character. The corruption still stuck on their bodies and their somewhat inhuman movements being the only things that hints at them being corrupted. The puppet strings say it all: they have become the corruption's puppet.

Ok so I have a theory about Pibby lore. I always thought about where the characters consciousness goes when they get corrupted. But after I watched this song it gave me a new idea, i think that fin,gumball,Steven universe, and all the shows that got corrupted are kind of taken to this… happy place? Of some sort. I don’t exactly know but it would make sense. It could be a strategy to make the victim become distracted and eventually forget about the real world. It would also be the reason why all of the cartoons/shows look happy when they are corrupted. This situation is similar to an episode of gravity falls(which also got corrupted in another fnf mod) where Mabel is trapped in a cage that tricks her to being in a world where she can get anything she wants. What do you guys think of my theory?

Honestly, those strings might BE Finn. He is the reincarnation of a catalyst comet with the ability to astral project. And Jake has mastery over his soul and upon death, would stretch to cause a cataclysm. I think that whatever the corruption is, it really likes these two, considering the effort put in to keep them. Finn is constantly resisting to some extent, despite the happy land projection he seems to be in, and Jake is kept waist deep in the glitchy stuff to prevent his powers from going out of control. If this corruption really just doesn’t want the shows to end, it probably thinks it’s in the right by stopping entropy itself.

At this mommet ( 0:56 ) if u look closely you can see that finn has eyebrows when he is infected. The reason im bringing that up is because in finns left pose (when infected after "peaceful" mode) his eyebrows are in the worried or sad way it would be drawn. The rest of the times it isn't there or it's just doing something in it's own mind
