1 year late to the 3rd version of this song and I have ONLY NOW realized the opening/main vocal motif of this song is definitely based on Bonnie's Lullaby, which is retrospectively really obvious AND kinda emotional. I've always championed Lurking as one of my favorites in Ourple, and this musical detail just puts it further up in my rankings.

It happens, this doesn’t really phase me much honestly but that’s okay. This collaboration with Samii was really fun to do and we made this for ourselves, v3 wasn’t even planned which made it even more fun lmao. We’re both extremely happy with how it turned out. But it do appreciate what you said it means a lot to me and I’m sure Samii would agree.

For people saying that the vocals are somewhat absent in the V3.1 hotfix (as evident by using the said hotfix's "Super Fucking HD mode" setting)... My conspiracy is that... this version is straight up placed in the mod. There would be people booing at me for this, but I honestly prefer the version from the V3's pre-hotfix. The version where Brooke's vocals at the end got higher on how much RWQ glitches his own "cell" (which is probably him stuck in his own mini-game), is extremely beautiful tbh

this is one hell of an upgrade! the added sound effects around the 00:50 mark help tie it together and make it more interesting I like the inclusion of a few more leitmotifs in this one, the melodies at 2:02 sound absolutely heavenly, and the high notes somehow don't make my ears bleed, which is great! also the key change at the end was very well done, and fitting!

So I don't see a point in leaving it in the comment, as it was a little silly ;^^) Regardless of what anyone says, you guys did wonderful on this track! Absolutely in love with the updated instrumental, and the vocals sound like they'll be a very fun chart to play :D makes me very hyped up for v3 as a whole.

@@triple_tsuchinoko by "compressed sound" i mean the filter effect that was removed in v3. it was probably removed because it doesn't allow for very long notes; it would just sound worse if they tried to do the long notes with shadow bonnie's old voice. even if this sounds empty, it's better than the alternative. unfortunately, that happens a lot with chromatics.

This is a really great version of Lurking! While I prefer the slightly more haunting tone v2 was going for, that's not to downplay v3 and how good it is! This version is a lot more groovy, and while it doesn't fit Shadow Bonnie as well as v2 or v1, it's a much better track regardless of that!
