@LeopaldStraus That's just self doubt fuck all that shit and go for it at least you'll know wether or not you've got what it takes. Either you you'll have a lot more respect for yourself I've struggled for years to get into the armed forces ever since I was 16. At first I wanted to join the army parachute regiment but I couldn't get in because I had a history off mental health. Went through an episode of psychosis from smoking weed had to take medication for a year. Army said to re apply after being 3 years clear off treatment but I re applied too soon and then I went through the appeal process. For 4 years I sent application after application, appeal after appeal with strong medical evidence thay states I'm fit for service from professional doctors and the army still took the piss. But my backup plan was always the royal marines so I applied in 2020 sent the same appeal and in 2021 they gave me the green light just like that. Had a little setback with the medical because off blood pressure but I got through that eventually, got through the fitness test on my second attempt. Failed my cpc but right now I'm training hard and improving and definitely gonna pass it next time I get down there. My point is don't ever stop fighting for your dream and don't let no one tell you that it's not for you, give it everything you have and keep fighting for it no matter what. I'm 22 as well so use your youth tip your advantage, all the best to you man.

22 is still young bro. If you feel regret now, imagine when you are retired. Best thing you can do is just jump straight into it. If you don’t feel tough now, you’ll certainly be when you are done with all your training. I joined the US Army at 21 and had a lot of self doubt. I dealt with a lot of bs over the years but I don’t regret a minute and I learned a lot about myself as well as my brothers. The friendships you gain are like no other idc what anybody says. I wonder if I'm the only one who sees this??? Tyler IS the consummate 'quiet professional' Tier 1 operator. He can't seem to suppress this aspect of who he is whether onset of SEAL Team or in this interview, or anywhere else I'd bet. I have so much respect and gratitude for him and his service, writing any more words about that would just be insufficient anyway. But he 'says' so much with who he is. I want to call out some things that need to be said. I'm going to go long, if it bothers you, please just scroll. I like to write, I've had some coffee...hehe. 1. His comments about operating with integrity and not doing anything he regretted in combat, never killing someone who wasn't supposed to, are so telling. Note he attributes it to 'where' he was, a subtle way of making clear that's how is in The Unit vs. say, I dunno, maybe THE SEALs? Cuz after reading Code Over Country and Alpha (the real story on Eddie Gallagher) I realized I'd been played awfully by the PR op of the SEALs and a compliant media. I was astonished and ashamed to discover how the SEALs were often incompetent in the field, and regularly committed war crimes. Even worse? Covering those war crimes up was standard procedure. They would have you believe such atrocities and awful behavior was a necessary part of war - it was and is not. Delta proved this with its effectiveness and conduct. Let me say that I'm aware there have been scandalous events in Delta from time to time, but nothing systematic like the SEALs. Fyi, if you are offended or shocked by what I just said, do some Googling on the statements SEAL leadership have made publicly about their failings and problems, they are not minor nor one-offs. But none of this gets focused on by our press nor our politicians. For the same reason you are offended by me speaking these truths. The Navy is super aggressive about defending this cash cow... 2. Be clear, Delta was light years ahead of the SEALs and all other Tier 1 SF teams on the planet when the GWOT began. Most Unit guys won't say this, but I've stitched it together by listening to many Unit guys talk about real experiences in the field. This was obvious to all on the ground as things like dual entries to buildings from a roof and the street were impossible for SEALs, but were standard for Delta (SAS was in the same boat). Why? The SEALs (and the SAS for that matter, early in in the GWOT who weren't regularly operating with NODs in 2001) would shoot each other and it would be a friendly fire festival if such a dual entry was attempted. Both of those SF units defaulted to overkill as their main tactic. Put simply, the SEALs and SAS were known to just kill everything on site. But Delta actually took responsibility for each round for reals in the field, not just in a shoot house. The JSOC eventually ran schools in which Delta trained both SEALs and SAS up in theater but you'll rarely hear a peep about this. Fyi, any Unit guy reading this will not back me up publicly cuz they don't badmouth their brothers in arms, but they are the best, by an order of magnitude. Today? Their advantage is astonishing. Delta regularly dominates global SF pistol and rifle shooting competitions - they beat the Germans...You are told the SAS is this incredible force - here's a newsflash for those fanbois. The U.S. DoD just downgraded the status of the entire British military from 'Tier 1', officially. SAS dudes are great, the Unit borrowed their training model a zillion years ago, sure, but decades of 100x more people and money makes a huge difference in outcomes and capabilities. 3. Keep in mind that Red Wings, Extortion 19 and Lutrell's disaster were all epic examples of SEAL incompetence and coverup operations. This is not to say they weren't warriors and serving our nation, but at some point the effing truth needs to be spoken loudly. This is also not to denigrate those who lost their lives in service to our nation. But I believe that the truth is the ultimate service to such men, as we see in the Pat Tillman case. He was killed due to SEAL screwups but they lied to us for years about it. This has all come out now, go to the TeamHouse, Green Beret Chronicles and other channels on KZbin and you'll see they have done great interviews with those who have chosen to speak out on all this, and much more. But I bet you'll never here the likes of Tyler Grey saying any of this in public. Also, be clear, I don't claim to speak for him or anyone else - I speak for myself as a proud free American who believes he lives in a self-governing nation. I believe that we as citizens must know these difficult truths to make good decisions and the right asks of our elected leaders. 4. Tyler can't help but make SEAls look like buffoons on the SEAL Team TV show, which has mercifully ended. The whiny, soap operaesque portrayal of the operators in the show never drew Tyler's character into the truly idiotic moral and emotional dramas of the show. It's interesting how the show grazes the truth of PTS and 'moral injury', and the overlap of the two. Sure, PTS is real from serious trauma, but it turns out guys who committed war crimes in the GWOT has much more difficulty than those who do not. Huh. Imagine how you'd feel now that we gave Afghanistan back to the Talis, and you had justified committing atrocities in the field based on an 'ends justifies the means' moral calculus? Imagine you were in a SEAL team that operated that was as a matter of course? I think the irony of having a Delta operator be the 'reality check' on a TV show about SEALs is lost on most. It's not as though there aren't 100 grinning former SEALs with blood soaked trophy hatchets who wouldn't gladly have jumped into that role on SEAL Team. Tyler's stoic, steady performance as a Tier 1 operator, with minimal drama, draws a nice contrast to the emotionalism of the rest of the team on the show. While I get its fiction, there is a subtext there, I think. Tyler's a frikking warrior I can be humbled by and proud of as an American, I have immense gratitude for his service. I wish Americans understood more about the actual conduct of the GWOT, not just for these reasons. If we don't learn the lessons that we paid so much in blood and lives and treasure to learn, then we can't really claim to be free men, engaged in self-governance, can we? I can't. I'm not a fanboi, rather, I'm a citizen. How about you? I will ignore all hate directed my way as my comments are all based on documented, public info on SEALs published in books and commentary made by operators on video, SEAL leaders in sworn congressional testimony and other public statements from the U.S. Navy. Don't be mad at me cuz you don't know all this - be mad at the propaganda operation that made you a SEAL fanboi in the first place...

Any potential processing and release was completely beyond his control, if anything it speaks to his character immensely that took the honorable route and brought him in, for both moral reasons and operational, especially since you never know what intel they could shell over. This comes down to an ego problem. As a former soldier (plain GI issue, nothing special like you or the spec ops people) There was no good explanation for your reservation or perception of his wife. The target not dying was not in the cards. Since you’re no longer a soldier wouldn’t it be better to pray for God to interact with this man and turn his heart? God obviously sparred this evil man. God wants no man to go to hell but all to turn from evil. It will help settle your mind and heart. If he is still evil then there will be a judgment upon his death. But you Sir can let the regret go. You did your duty. America thanks you. You did more good as a soldier than harm. Glorify God the remainder of your days. God bless you

🎥 Video Title: Delta Force Operator “I Regret Not Killing Him” | Tyler Grey Author: FNG ACADEMY Watch on KZbin 📝 Key Highlights and Insights from the Video: 1. Military Experience and Regrets: Tyler Grey, a Delta Force operator, shares a significant moment of regret during his military service. He reflects on a specific raid where he regrets not killing an insurgent who he later believes continued to harm others. Despite this, he mentions that he never compromised his morals during his service, which he attributes to being in situations where his actions were clear-cut against “bad people.” 2. A Mission Gone Awry: In a high-stakes raid, Grey explains how he entered a room, and during a close encounter with an armed insurgent, decided to disarm him instead of shooting him. While successful in the moment, Grey later reflects on how the insurgent, believed to be a local facilitator for foreign fighters, might have continued to cause harm after being let go. 3. Emotional Aftermath: Grey expresses the deep emotional burden this decision placed on him. For years after the incident, especially during the war, he would think about it frequently, wondering if his decision indirectly contributed to more violence against American forces. 4. Hostage Rescue Style Operations: Grey details how the mission was part of a larger operation, involving only a few operators against a large number of insurgents. He explains that such missions were conducted differently in the past, often involving high-risk, close-quarters combat with little margin for error. 5. Lessons Learned: Reflecting on this experience, Grey highlights how the complexity and unpredictability of such missions leave little room for clear-cut decisions. His story underlines the intense pressures and life-or-death decisions soldiers face in the field. 💡 Explore More: Would you like to dive deeper into one of the following aspects of the video? 1. The psychological impact of life-and-death decisions in combat. 2. The role of Delta Force and special operations in modern military missions. 3. Insights into hostage rescue missions and their unique challenges.

I had an opposite experience, when during a vehicle interdiction, shots were going off, and in that fog of war, someone decided to idiotically put themselves in the middle of all that, and he paid the ultimate price. We exfiled the area, and they just left them there.
