To judge history by modern standards is foolish. Completely missing the point that these are THE men who pioneered the SF role and instead nitpicking as if they'd have known already.

You need to read, Sniper One by Sgt Dan Mills. For six months they were isolated, besieged and under constant enemy fire. He tells of an American sniper team that shows up with a Barrett. They go up on the roof and the British point one of the leader. He is standing up on a veh. way out of range of their weapons, directing his militia. The American sniper takes off his head, to the delight of the British. The American lets the British snipers take turns shooting it. It's an awesome book. Sgt Mills said they were trying to get the funds for a movie.

How is she his prostitute? She LEFT dancing to work fast-food. Surely, between the 2 of you, you’re able to understand how her transition says a lot about her becoming a lioness.

It’s quite insulting to listen to these two reference some of the greatest war heroes and pioneers of modern warfare as “dumb ass’s”. They were educated at Oxford and Cambridge, Paddy Main played rugby for Ireland and the British Lions, Irish university boxing champion and poet. These two couldn’t walk in the shadow of any of the originals

I'm sure the director isn't telling him to act like an "SF Guy". He is probably telling him that he's got a brain tumor and he's just had his family murdered. Just put it in the background there, Mr. GB. Up until the point where Reese backward rams the car and the guy shoots at him, we were all wondering everything we were seeing was a hallucination. That scene with the reporter there to witness it showed that he wasn't just freaking out. It was really happening.

The complete willful ignorance of being the father of a biracial daughter and not understanding why a daughter might feel that way is utterly sad. How exactly would a white man know what it's like to navigate teenagehood through the eyes of a black or biracial girl?? Leaving space for your children to express their frustration and discontent over the racism she's facing requires empathy at the very least, not ignorance. Then you need to educate yourself and provide resources to help her navigate it rather than the false belief that having a white side in common with 1 parent makes that parent automatically capable.... what?? Really??

Gender roles seem to always trip you guys up. It's not feminine that the father is the one home nurturing the kids. He's doing the nurturing because he's the one there with the kids daily caring for their needs. The sooner we get away from masculine versus feminine roles inside the household, the better we'll all be.

The city NEVER pays for damages done in the commission of police work; they actively fight any attempt to pay damages.
The guy without the cap is annoying as hell. We get it dude ! You are a soldier. It’s a movie !! Scenes are directed to evoke emotion and look a certain way. Being 100% realistic is not always exciting in a movie. You think if the the director wanted 100% realism he couldn’t ? You’re a jarhead bro.

It is wildly dramatised for the audience. They actually did tick what boxes they could but they had no support from command so a lot of it was do what you can.

For anyone interested in the early history of the SAS then the book this TV series was based on is a good start. Also anything by Damien Lewis. Lewis wrote the book 'Ministry of ungentlemanly warfare' which itself is now a movie. Also "SAS forged in hell" is another well researched and written account of early SAS missions.

In terms of movie assassins, I wanna see your take on these two characters: 1) Jason Bourne 2) Vincent (from Collateral) Bourne seems a bit over-the-top, but plausible enough if the CIA trained a very talented candidate who was recruited from the military. Vincent, on the other hand, seems super-plausible as a highly trained contact killer. He's deadly, but through a series of unlucky circumstances, makes mistakes all throughout the movie. It makes him feel more human.

I agree that a plan is a "list of things that dont happen". In the UK we say that "no plan survives first contact", that being said a strong plan makes sure everybody understands the end goal and ensures we have considered all the different ways we can achieve it, making on the spot decision making easier.
