The other thing I’ve seen that’s a huge difference is Rangers are usually around the ages of 20-23 year olds as SF guys are usually 24-35 average age from what I’ve seen. SF I feel is more of a mature game and Rangers are more like SEALs in the sense of young men that want to fight more than anything. That’s what my experience I felt seeing both units when I was in.
@bighands69
@bighands69 2 жыл бұрын
Entering either is a young man's game and not for an older man. The body at 18 to 25 can handle far more abuses and recover more quickly and as age starts to creep in the body cannot handle it as easily. I suppose the main difference between both is that Army Special forces is more of a Commando unit and Rangers are more of an elite direct action shock Troop. They are both special operations and only the best will get through.

@@marttram2183 Yep it does happen. These days SFs and Seal units who work with foreign units develop code words among themselves as a defense if they feel they are going to betrayed by the people they are training. Of course the code words are a signal to light the trainees up, blow them up or abandon them if possible. It has to be so dangerous working behind enemy lines or in a foreign land training people whose loyalty is questionable.

He said he had offered to take you bear hunting here in Idaho. He will be gone for the next couple years. If you or anyone else from the brotherhood want to go on a hunt, hit me up. From what I've read on and understand green berets selection comes from ranger schools and green berets are rangers with specialized training in working with smaller and faster maneuvers that are more clandestine and undercover than ranger operations but I would say they are trained pretty much the same when it comes to urban combat the green berets just kno stuff that's a little more specialized thats not necessarily involving direct action flying in hot and bring lightning and thunder but take place a little before involving either support for hostage rescue or target acquisition for takedowns using lightning fast groups like 75th regiment to strike
@karliskokorevics6902

Uhhh... nope, not at all. Army Special Forces (Green Berets) and 75th Ranger Regiment selection and recruitment are separate. The Regiment has RASP and SF has SFQC (aka Q-course) and both are also separate from the Ranger School. To become SF you don't need to be a Ranger, nor go through Ranger School. Also, you can be a Green Beret and opt to join the Ranger Regiment, or be a Ranger and join SF. And the primary difference between Rangers and Special Forces is that SF focuses on Unconventional and Guerilla Warfare, as well as training and fighiting with friendly guerillas or allied partner forces while the Ranger Regiment is the US Army's premiere Direct Action force. You might be mistaking Special Forces/Green Berets with Delta Force.

I think it's Important to note that both units have special units in them so if you do chose the green beret route there are things like the CIF (commanders in extremis force) provided you have the team experience and willing to go through another selection process and 75th has a tier one element as well. RRD and RECCE are some options within 75th that are unique from the regiment as a whole. In other words, there are other avenues you can persue within each organization.

Great video. Over all the crap you hear about this unit being better than this unit I’m glad someone is helping the younger generation understand that it’s 2 different mission sets between SF and 75th Rangers. From what I have heard there is definitely overlap but they still have different mission sets and both are equally as important to the betterment of this amazing country. I’m leaving for Army basic in a month on an airborne infantry contract, and it’s nice to see the options up ahead. I will see what mission is appealing to me after my 3 year contract because what’s appealing now may not be after 3 years. This gave me the info I needed.

my understanding of rangers: elite infantry unit, special operation capable, often work aloneside or assist other SF units like green berets or delta force. rangers have a bigger focus on direct action while army green beret is of course capable if not better in direct action and special operations, but they have a higher level mission which often include operating in hostile territory and work aloneside local militia / separatist forces to help them achieve political goals of the USA. Rangers on the other hand mostly focuses in direction action, recon, etc. actually, I always think of the CIA when talking about the green berets, i imagine there is a lot of cooperation between the cia and green berets...
@bighands69
@bighands69 2 жыл бұрын
US army rangers are special operations. Their task is most certainly more direct and they tend not to work alongside Special Forces. Special Forces tend to perform more Commando duties with more specialized training in specific tasks. SF do not have higher level missions and in certain task they are not better. If the Army wants to take out a large defended position they are going to send in Rangers not Special Forces or if there is a raid that is planned with the likelihood of high force engagement then Rangers are the best for that. There can also be a lot of overlap between their capabilities at times but there most certainly there are differences. If the task is to carry out extended movement into enemy territory where a low profile and limited actions are required then Special Forces are better.

You gotta do 2 years military academy to become a SGT and than you go to CAC “curso de ação de comandos “ or RASP here in US, than 4 months of CAC and if you finish it you gotta do a lot of other courses in your unit as soon as you get there , after that 2 years of SF training if you want .

In the US Rangers are on a Par with Special forces and are not a stepping stone or lower in level. They have two different tasks and different pipelines. Being a Ranger does not help somebody into becoming Special Force and that applies the other way around.

It’s great to train with a weighted vest. That way your body gets used to carrying a certain amount of weight but at the same time it’s bad for your joints because your body isn’t used to carry that much weight. So just go for it and know your limits and take care of your body

I say don't use them, I'll explain why..... Imagine a soccer player kicking a ball, power, lift, velocity, arch of flight, etc ..... Kicking a ball straight up is a use of energy that results in no distance forward. Kicking the ball low along the grass results in the ball rolling, friction, ... it stops short. Kicking the ball at an angle that results in height, air travel, distance, bounce, rolling, then stopping. The ball peaking is when you are nearing SFQC graduation. The landing bounce is Robin Sage, the rolling is completely your final patrol. The stop is walking across the stage, with beret in hand. Don't peak too early, don't enter Army training with an injury. After Basic Trng., self evaluate. During and after AIT, ABN, etc., again self evaluate. Enter SFAS Selection with a strong soccer "kick". Fitness is measured in strength, flexibility, cardio endurance, and recovery . Find a GF, enjoy this time. Its a long road, good luck. I've also read that it can be hard to get approval from your chain of command to drop a packet at RASP II but "Not even God himself" can stop an SFAS packet from going through. The cultural aspect is different too. I think it’s important people know that in Regiment, it’s a super structured environment just like a regular army unit. Shaved faces, rigid command etc. mostly young guys too, minus of course your veteran NCO’s. SF pipeline is a lot longer with older & much more mature guys generally. Not a strict rigid command structure. Facial hair down range is common. The teaching part doesn’t sound as sexy but the added autonomy & flexibility I think can draw people in.

Rangers get far more combat operational time than SF do while SF get more training and have more specialized capabilities and work in a Commando duties capacity. it is a sort of a myth that SF are this UN style training force as they are just as likely to be fighting just not as much tough. Rangers are Army an elite shock troop that are their primary acting force for missions.
