Someone YOU should KNOW! The whole Bass community should be subscribed to you Kennans. What a splendid gift to Bassists worldwide! I'm a Drummer who barely plays Bass but this video has inspired me to pay better, as you are so talented and make it look so easy. THANK YOU!

Very informative and advanced !! I've found that you can also get MORE OVERTONES , just like an Upright Bass would, if you cut it exactly the same but just 1/3 thinner (on the neck-to-bridge axis) AND place it about 4 fingers above the bridge ! (Where you would do a pinch harmonic to get the major 3rd) And you get a little more sustain back too ! Makes it VERY usable ! ;) For my part I'll try the thing where you mute all strings but one :)

Really nice to see that harmonic still working while the foam is at the bridge that was something I lost by packing too tightly and keeping it right at the bridge, the ellio martina mute really caught my ear but it costs more than double what my bass cost haha Running the foam up and down the strings for gradient muting is genius, you've clearly spent some time on this!

I have the Nordy mute and it's too aggressive for my purposes. I do very much like you do using the same or similar common grey air conditioning weatherstripping, trimmed to propper size and shape.

Hey! Tried this and it worked like fine wine💯✨ muting was nicely tailored and overtones were nicely cut without cutting too much and dampening the strings heavily. Thank you for the insight!

Quick question: at 7:43 you said that you were getting a lot of good neck rattle. What did you mean by that? I did a google search and it seems that it is not a desired effect. Could you please clarify. BTW, I'm totally new to bass playing. Thanks
