After further research this is not a longterm solution. The tire works for a while and then the foam eventually breaks down. It may work for an application that does not get much use but it is not a solution for a riding mower. Check out the followup Video Below.

Only need one hole at 12 and one at 6. Fill the vertical standing tire through 6 and when foam comes out at 12 youre done.

Mike mine are 50/50 lots of crack's on the sides. I saw your first try with foam. I said its a real mess it's looking like new tires 4 me. I saw your next post. My 4 tires came out great 6 cans. I drilled lots of air holes & I Put 8/12 ozs. of water in each tire. Looking forward 2 putting them back on and just cut grass. Thanks so much Mike.

its seems to work in NEW tubes, to prolong their life a bit, but it does not work at all with tubeless tires or tubes that already have holes/leaks in them. but still not the best , the best thing is tire tube slime of some kind, but in a pinch yeah some of the foam products can be used

I'd like to see how well the foam holds up after a year or more of use. Riding mowers aren't real heavy but I'm curious if the dried foam would crumble over time.

@@MikeJones-rk1un I didn't know tires could be bought new already foam filled. Some years ago I had a set of mower tires foam filled due to getting too many thorns & flats. Once filled they weighed a ton. I never weighed them but it seemed it doubled the weight of the mower so then instead of getting flats it would often get stuck (this was in Fla - mostly sand).

Depends on how much weight you put on it. For light stuff foam may work but for a heavy mower I suggest slime then a tube if that doesn’t work.

Love the video on this tire repair kits....funny to watch ya doing the foaming thing. I would only offer one suggestion.....after you drill holes but before you shoot foam in the tire....take a small paper towel and wipe down the tire side walls with a table spoon of wesson oil OR spray some Pam - to help prevent the rest of the tire surface from foam sticking to it. Should a snap to pull off the excess foam away from the tire.

I could see oiling the sidewalls might help because that is the part of the tire that flexes, and that could break down the bubbles. kind of like the reason for backer rod

How long does these foam filled tires last before it gets crushed and "deflates" I guess you would call it. Wonder what the foam holds its form with the weight of a commercial zero turn vs the actual air pressure as far as tire slack. Does this really work? Any videos putting these tires to the test?

you did not add water. I bought a light commercial zero turn mower in June of theis year. Most of the time it is sitting with tires gone flat and therefore off the rims. I can not get them back to the rims. so I am stuck. any suggestions>? I am ready to cut some wooden tires

Great idea. Only problem with this is when you hit a hole or a curb you are going to dent the foam then you will have a bumpy ride until you get a new tire.

Hate to be the one to point this out after you went through the trouble of getting more tires but, all you had to do was not cap the valve stem. I've done a similar experiment with a large cooler lid.

I used to have property in California and used my JD lawn tractor to cut everything that grew there, sagebrush, tumbleweeds, mustard and whatever popped up. It was goathead city in area and my tires were covered. I just would buy the gallon jug of tubeless slime and

@@ResIpsaquitur I agree with you 100%, I have a small engine shop and have used a lot of slime, I use it in my own tires, I mow about 10 ares and the woodline in the west pasture is full of honey locust with 3 inch thorns and slime has saved me from walking all the way back to the shop numerous times, in my opinion its the best solution.

Okay, I’ve tried this twice on my front zero turn tire. Once adding the foam through valve stem(no holes drilled). And once with 6-8 holes drilled in sidewall -filling it evenly throughout tire. Both times tire was flat again the next morning. Not sure why it isn’t working for me??

Hey Tim, I hear ya it only seems to work on tires that don’t hold a lot of weight. It eventually went flat on my zeroturn also. I suggest just buying the solid rubber wheel and tire setup off Amazon it is super easy and will never go flat.

Yep you nailed it, it is a wheel off a zeroturn mower. It runs great I have always had issues with leaky front tires on my zeroturn but not anymore!

Do I understand it now that you Should actually just remove the valve stem core, then fill it with foam, and just not put the valve stem core back in? And no hole drilling is required?Thanks again!

That is my latest theory, but I haven't tested it yet like that. I plan on doing yet another video to test if you can just leave the valve stem cap off and let it vent. You are very astute to figure that out!

First mistake, read instructions and hold the can upside-down. Secondly it takes days to set up completely.

I tried this didn't work. In the end your foam inside the tire will end up like powder . .the foam gets smashed more and more till you have a fine powder in your tire.

Save yourself the long term disappointment(s); Go to Harbor Freight and get an inner tube and have it installed. The foam ''dents'' and does not return to shape ( like a Styrofoam cooler ) The load capacity ( contradiction in terms ) of hard weightless foam is about 10 lbs !!

Well the biggest problem is is I like to run about 3 pounds of air 25 in the front tires on the tractor and about 8 on the rear so when I mow my rough ass yard it doesn't beat the living s*** out of me with foam filled tires is going to be like driving us steel wheeled wagon over your rough Terrain I guess if somebody can't figure out how to keep air in your tires I suppose the phone might be a way to go but it's going to beat the hell out of you when you're mowing

I drill small holes 5-6 of them and add 1/4 cup of water. it is a moisture cure after all, 2 tires on a trailer and i don't baby it

@@MowerMike 2 years 1/16 holes or smaller. I used 1/2 can of the 24oz can that uses the gun "Great stuff pro". Most importantly it needs water, normally humidity is enough. Let it sit for a day or two to cure out
