NO! I am NOT a Cub Cadet employee or affiliated with them whatsoever. I have had mine (LT1050) for 12 years now. Only complaint was that most of the height settings are worthless as it only moves in the highest 4 settings. Deck is on the ground at setting 4 from top and there are 6 more under that. (ARRGGHH). However, I have been using it every year with no complaints other than expected maintenance and repairs. It is still going strong. John Deere on the other hand is WAY overpriced and are too proprietary. Would not buy one. Just my opinion. Just like A**holes, everyone has one. Have a nice day.

You complain about Cub Cadet too much. I worked on John Deere small equipment at a shop, and they had as many weird problems as any other brand. Cub Cadet builds a good mower for the price point.

Maybe all the issues you have had was buying used mowers from people that are poor at maintenance. I expect cub cadets to be ran through, along with any consumer riding mower.. People are horrendous with maintenance and messing stuff up. Im going through one now that was farmer rigged..

Hey Mike, love the video! I’m curious to know though…what else can I do to give my Z-turn a bit more zip? It maxes at about 11mph with the governors removed, which is MORE than enough for mowing the yard, but I have to drive it about .5 miles down a paved road to get gas. Close enough not to need a trailer, but just far enough I want to save a couple minutes. Some dude once told me that a larger fuel tank adds fuel pressure and makes it go faster, but that sounds like massive load of BS lol
@MowerMike
@MowerMike Күн бұрын
Haha that is total BS. I think you are maxed out on speed at 11mph. That is zipping it. The only other thing you could do is either put a larger pulley on the crank or smaller pullies on the top of the hydros to make that belt spin faster. That would be a science project though and would change belt sizes. In theory you could get some smaller rear tires also just for the ride but would have to change them out when you got there. Thanks for watching

Hi Mike! I have an LA145 and I've watched a few of your videos. Excellent presentations - very clear and especially helpful calling out the bolt sizes so I had them all queued up and within arms reach. I do notice that you often don't do the installation part, just the disassembly, and then note that the install is in reverse - and that should pretty much cover it. I will note that I almost tore the wires off the clutch because I didn't notice that there was a steel tab that needs to slip inside the slot in the plate between the clutch and the deck pulley. Fortunately I took the tractor for a test spin after putting it all back together, but before remounting the mower deck. When I started to install the deck, I noticed that the wire clip on the clutch wasn't facing forward anymore, and then found that I could spin the clutch assembly around, stretching the wires to the max. After a closer inspection I figured it out, and no damage was done. So, perhaps you might consider adding a little cautionary comment at the end of this video, and the clutch replacement video which is cut from this one, to make certain to slip that tab into the slot to keep the clutch in place. At any rate, please keep up the good work - your videos are far better than most.

Interesting video but the problem with using foam is that as you drive it the foam breaks down and then you're left with a tire that's useless. What I have done on a fairly rotted tire that's tubeless and had tons of sidewall leaks I would go out and buy an inner tube and install it and voila no more problems. Much cheaper than buying a whole new tire.
@jamesmeihe7764
@jamesmeihe7764 3 күн бұрын
Also you don't need to take the tire off as you can just squeeze the inner tube inside the tire and then inflate it.

Spent the past few hours watching videos and disassembling GXV630 on a Cub Cadet RZT-L46 trying to locate/fix the governor. It went from full throttle to wtfo banging of the rev limiter while mowing this morning. Any chance you have a video on that? Comin up short on the Tube on this one
@MowerMike

Not on my channel. I would check your throttle cable bracket and make sure it isn’t slipping in there. Or it may have an air leak making it lean out and rev high. Can’t rely on the KZbin for everything will need to do some trial and error. Good luck

@@MowerMike I grew up on a small family farm with all 1950's equipment. The machines would do whatever you tell it to and it wont care if it tears if self up or kills you. I've seen too many operators who just go until the machine quits. Never mind that the motor has been screaming all day due to over loaded or no oil or no water. At all times read your surroundings. Thank you Grandpa it has served me well.
