Nice sparring video, at always, and I am glad to see you back guys. It is also very cool to see that somebody use inside guard as engagement guard too, as I often prefer

Thanks a lot. I tend to use it less than outside guard when engaging the opponent but it's definitely useful!

Why aren't you doing spinning evades and twirls...... just kidding. I like how you treat the foam sparring as though it's a live blade. I've seen other channels , not gonna mention them, and there's all this jumping and spinning. Neither fencer is treating the foam as though it's real steel. Good stuff

My bad, I also should have used the Force and be spinning at my training partner while screeching like good old Sheev Palpatine! Cheers, appreciate the comment!

how do you think using go now foam swords transition to actual steel sparring? i would also love to see more longsword sparrings (thats the weapon i train in)

The foam sabres are really good for low gear sparring at any skill level, which makes them ideal for beginners who own little equipment. They are *really* bouncy tho, so steel will feel different for sure. It's one tool of many :)

Would be good if the 'boffers' had some electronics in them to give metallic clangs and tings when struck.

Thanks! These are cheap 20€ shin guards from Amazon that I have replaced now and PBT historical fencing pants which are just black sport fencing pants. Cheers!
