You did a better job of showing how to sculpt hair than my college professor. Thank you so much!

This looks very nice! I was looking for some tutorials for my first foam wig. I try to make a Tiny Tina cosplay and this is very helpful. Now I just need the guts to start ^^''

Thank you so much! You can do it, once you get started then the hardest part is over :)

How do you make the wig helmet stick to your head ?

How would you go about making a mid-back length low ponytail?
@misyayhow13054 жыл бұрын
THANK YOU FOR THIS! Just a question though, how heavy is the clay? Would I be able to use it for a ponytail or should I use the foam sheets to make it?
@rexmacabre73004 жыл бұрын
Oh yeah, it air dries SO LIGHTWEIGHT! It is lighter than foam sheets which can be very dense. The main thing to keep in mind is that foam clay shrinks a little bit when it dries so it doesn't hurt to make your sculpt like 5% bigger to account for the shrink when it dries over the next 48 hours! My foam wigs are lighter than my traditional wigs, haha!

Love the video! This might be a dumb question but do you pin it to your wig cap so it doesn’t fall off your head?
@rexmacabre73002 жыл бұрын
Hi! I don't, actually. When I made the foam cap that the wig is built on top of, I made the fit snug so it doesn't really move.

Does the clay stick to the scalp? do you have to put glue? Sorry I don't understand English I write with a translator.

Wondering if it works to make bits that hang over? Like in front of the face??
@rexmacabre73004 жыл бұрын
A little! I used foam clay for Tyreen's hair, but when it dried it had shifted a little (it shrinks as it dries). You can have a bit more control using foam sheets and shaping it depending on the look you're going for.

What clay did you use?

Thanks for the video. I need to make a headpiece for a “Ghost Rider” costume. Would it be okay for me to use a hot glue gun for foam pieces shaped like fire 🔥 flames and if so what base should I use? Wig cap, bald cap, etc? This will be my first try.
@rexmacabre73002 жыл бұрын
Yeah, I used hot glue a ton! The only drawback is it really needs to be primed cuz paint might not stick to the dry hot glue sometimes. The base I use is the foam cap in the video.

Could I use super glue or gorilla glue instead
@rexmacabre73004 жыл бұрын
I think it takes some trial and error. I've been using contact adhesive or hot glue, though not all contact adhesives work as well. I don't think super glue has the power to create a strong bond, though.
