Two pairs of Class 357s in c2c livery head toward Pitsea and Stanford-le-Hope respectively. This is one of two AHBCs on this line, and having seen Mucking LC on the way home, this is the most degraded. The lights are a bit out of line and the alarms are too fast, not to mention the fact that the barriers droop to the ground. I think that they might have been MCB barriers at one point, because one is longer than the other, even though the road is the same width across the tracks. The wheel flanges in the first closure were unexpected, as there is no sharp bend here. There was a temporary speed restriction from Stanford-le-Hope to Pitsea on the day of filming. When leaving, the crossing lowered a third time. Two trains passed in quick succession, then the crossing stayed down for 2 more minutes before raising. I honestly thought it had broken. These crossings need upgrading, and I think it now has LED lights.
