These two crack me up! At approximately 9:08 Shadow gets Jackie in a chokehold with that big forked branch, and she’s looking increasingly irritated. His plan of being completely annoying seems to be working. She’ll have to get off the eggs sooner or later so dad can have some egg-bonding time. These two are by far my favorite eagle couple, you can tell they’ve been married forever. 💜❤️🦅🦅 I’m starting to worry that Shadow is going to accidentally poke Jackie in the eye with all the chaotic landings as he’s bringing in those gigantic pointy sticks! He’s a really busy guy this morning! 😂😂😂

Well, he did indeed pry her off the eggs, but it wasn't exactly "gentle". It surprised me and cracked me up at the same time. Shadow is a very clever Stickman and knows just how to annoy Jackie to get what he wants. I'm sure she wasn't hurt but it did look a bit brutal. they can barely manage those sticks in the correct position in the nest during nesting, they have absolutely no control or any significant grip on the sticks in their beaks. when he's pushing her with the stick you can see that the stick is moving in his mouth as it is pushed against Jackie, so no it wasn't brutal, and she was annoyed, she was simply confused about what was happening. When you are annoyed, you resist, she didn't she went along with it confusedly.

My favorite J + S video so far. So funny how Shadow actually physically removes her from the eggs by hooking her with a perfectly shaped stick at just the right time. Most likely a coincidence but if I didnt know any better, its like he picked that stick on purpose and knew exactly what he was doing. Looks more like a gag from a TV show than real life.
