Hi Mike...do you find the Chora 826 speakers overly bright at all? Cheers
@Paranimal862 жыл бұрын
@@fcamiola not at all!! I have sensitive ears to that, I usually have that issue with brands like Klipsch…. These speakers have a forward presentation for sure but never uncomfortable, they have a nice bite that I don’t experience with other brands. There similar to B&W in ways but actually less fatiguing. They have a DuPont matarial behind the aluminum alloy tweeter for suspension called poron it’s a rubber like material that reduces sibilance. Which is metal metal basically ringing which is the leading cause of war fatigue… this results in a super detail high end without ever being harsh or over bearing.
@fcamiola2 жыл бұрын
@@Paranimal86 This is great, thanks for the details. I have a Rogue sphinx v3 integrated which has a tube preamp section, so I'm hoping the synergy between these two will be good. Or great! Thanks again and congrats on the Focals.

Audio Advice is fantastic! They installed my 7.1.4 (2 Sub) Focal Electra system and they nailed it. They really care about customer satisfaction and there advice (pun intended) is on point. Happy to see that they carry Focal. Come to think of it, I have been meaning to call them to get some acoustic panels!

Just bought these this review is spot on! The tweeters are incredible somehow they made them so detailed but relaxed sounding at the same time. High volume listening is never fatiguing. These speakers are fun, like driving a sporty convertible from Ferrari. They just have this forward but relaxed sound to them, everything just sounds so effortless but it never is in your face loud like a muscle car.

Thanks for the wonderful video. I am setting up a home theatre room with 14 feet * 16 feet room. TV will be placed on the 16 feet wall. Should I use the 5.1.2 setup from Chora 816 or Chora 826 for this room? I am okay to stretch my budget but my main goal is less fatigue while watching movies/tvseries. We should get a good theatre experience even on lower sounds. Your advice will be very helpful to me.

For home theatre I wonder if the focal aria are better than the focal chora?
@deni1964964 жыл бұрын
Leo Serravalle The Flax cone used in the Aria allows them to reproduce faster sound, which is definitely better in home cinema. Also, they reach lower in terms of bass. The only downside is there are no Dolby Atmos speakers in that series.

I wasn't pleased with the sound of the Chorus center at all for HT, but the Chrous mains sound good for 2 channel stereo. Would the Chora Center pair up good with the Chorus floor standing mains?

"89db sensitivity is pretty decent for bookshelf speakers !" 😂😁 My Davis Acoustics bookshelf speakers ( also a French speaker manufacturer ) are 94db sensitivity.
@Paranimal863 жыл бұрын
Cause 89 is so low sensitivity! Lol So yours are super efficient not sure your point…. 89db is solid efficiency. Many other brands rely on overly complex cross overs which typically leads to less efficient speakers. 89 is great most decent amps including tubes will have 0 trouble delivering enough power to these.

You seem to know alot about Focal speakers, I have Definitely technology BP9080x tower speakers and Definitely technology SR 9080 surround speakers, I also have the Definitely technology Cs9080 Center Speaker, But the Center Speaker is alittle boome no matter how I calibrate it, Watching action movies it sounds great but watching say a drama the voice is alittle muddy, I was thinking of trying Focal Chora center speaker since they have one of the best center speakers for voice clarity on the market for a decent price, Do you think the Focal Center will work with my other speakers?
@AudioAdvice3 жыл бұрын
Andre- it is always best to try to match up home theater speaker systems as close as possible. The Chora would be much better, but you might want to try putting your center speaker on some large rubber feet and change the crossover point in your AVR to 110-100 Hz. That usually will help with a boomy sound. For more info please reach out to our team at www.audioadvice.com

Does the poron act as a dampener?

How can a stand time align a speaker? That makes no sense at all?
@AudioAdvice4 жыл бұрын
If you look closely, the 806 stands are slightly raked back which tilts the speakers and time aligns the woofer to the tweeter.
@dtmfool7894 жыл бұрын
@@AudioAdvice that is a very interesting concept. I'm more familiar with time alignment being done through a DSP but that makes sense.
