Hi everyone. I just want to clarify my comment on “time alignment” The speaker is leaned back so that the voice coils are aligned. The speed of sound is the speed of sound. So it’s not so much that high/mid/low frequencies travel at different speeds, it’s a time alignment of the voice coils on the speakers for the highs/mods/lows.

@Marten Dekker "Focal has aligned them already". But the tweeter VC is two inches in front of the woofer VC. I always thought the tilt was to mitigate that? And why don't they make them time aligned anyway? The vast majority of normal 2-ways are like the Focals, with the tweeters way in front. And the Klipsch and Tannoy are the opposite, with the tweeters way behind. Buchardt are about the only conventional 2-ways that do appear to be actually time aligned. The KEFs are, but they aren't conventional 2-ways.

It's a way of correcting phasing, which to some people gives a better since of depth to the sound.

Nice review! So when i'm sitting like say 20 feet always from these speakers, the Atmos effect is probably just too little?

I am new to the Home theater world, I just got rid of my Soundbar and going into a traditional Home Theater system, Am purchasing the Home theater mostly for movies and occasionally music, Am torn between the Definitely technology BP9060 tower speakers with the Definitely technology Cs9080 Center Speaker and the Definitely technology A90 Dolby Atmos height speakers, Or this Focal Chora 826-d with the Focal Chora center speaker, Any recommendations?

Thanks for the wonderful video. I am setting up a home theatre room with 14 feet * 16 feet room. TV will be placed on the 16 feet wall. Should I use the 5.1.2 setup from Chora 816 or Chora 826 for this room? I am okay to stretch my budget but my main goal is less fatigue while watching movies/tvseries. We should get a good theatre experience even on lower sounds. Your advice will be very helpful to me.

I want to build a new home theater setup but I'm a little stock with my speaker decision. I am interested in the Martin Logan ESL and i have a friend that is selling me a pair for a good price, i came across this Focal (I know the brand as a Audio production) and became very interested. What speaker do you think is a better choice for me. Reference: I love a listen to music a lot. Mainly want them for main in home theater but want the flexibility for music. I plan to have multiple seats (for sound direction purposes) Thinking about a pair of Rels or JL subs Thank you

This is my 2 cents based on my observations. Martin Logan speakers are phenomenal with music as they have such an articulate sound reproduction with more mid level volumes. They do however need a lot of room for the electro-static line to really shine which might be a damper with a smaller home theater environment. I am to also understand that they might become distorted a tad easier while being pushed with higher wattage systems that are typically needed to fill a theater with the vast array of higher volume sounds. I could be wrong about that though. I haven't been researching Focal for very long but from what I gather the Chora line can do it all. Because of the Slate cones they can move quick and accurately during high intensity movie scenes, but also give a fantastic musical balance, quick to respond to changing rhythms and beats. The lows may be lacking a little bit, but a simple solution is to pair a couple of subs together to fill the extra low end. Definitely need 2 subs in a home theater environment. Oh and btw, may I also suggest Rythmik or Hsu subwoofers? But yeah, basically, if you have a dedicated music room, ML all the way, and if your gearing more for a mix of both, Focal Chora line. But heck if you can score a great deal on them Logan's go for it! They should be more than sufficient for any Theatrical needs. Hope that helps.

Can I use 4 Focal Chords 826-D's for front and rear speakers? I'm considering the Onkyo RZ 50 as the amplifier. The room has 10'3 inch ceilings and its 20x20 with one wall open to the kitchen area.

Better than Aria 926?
@flemminghansen6500

No. I heard the Chora 816 and Aria 926 at the dealers listening room. Arie was the best speaker in the room Chora definitely a no 2. The rest 20 something wasn't interesting. I chose the Chora 826 and it is between the two but Aria 926 is better but not worth the extra money (according to my wallet)

What amount of input can these speakers manage without busting the tweeter (or the other speakers come to that)? Could they take a genuine 100 watts without blowing up?

Chora 826 or Klipsch 8000F?
@WorldWideStereo
@WorldWideStereo 4 жыл бұрын
Hi Skyline - The Focal Chora 826 and Klipsch 8000F are vastly different speakers. Klipsch is more live concert, rock sound, where the Focal is more studio-quality, refined, and accurate. I would personally choose the Chora 826’s, but that's my sound preference.

@@WorldWideStereo thank you for the information. I listen a lot to dance and electro house. So I need a lot of bass. Does the 8000F have much more bass than the Chora 826? I will also use the speakers in a home cinema configuration. I will buy a 5.2 system.

How do they sound compared to the 936 and the Kanta 2?
@WorldWideStereo
@WorldWideStereo 4 жыл бұрын
Hi pennfootball - The tweeters are identical to the tweeters in the Aria 936, so from that perspective they sound similar there. However, the new Slatefiber driver is much faster than the flax driver, making the sound punchier. The Chora sound is more lively. The Kanta is the combination of the Beryllium tweeter and the flax drivers. The upper highs are much smoother and more wide open, but then the flax driver softens up the overall sound of the speaker. This is an interesting combination, one to audition for sure. - Adam

Is it good enough for 600 sqft room or is Klipsch rph better
@WorldWideStereo
@WorldWideStereo 4 жыл бұрын
Thanks for your question. Without knowing the exact Klipsch model you are comparing it is difficult to say which is “better.” A 600 sqft space is a smaller room. The Chora 826D includes an Atmos up-firing driver. Do you have a surround sound system in your room? Please get back to us so we can provide more complete advice!

@@shreyagarwal3244 Thank you for clarifying your situation. Your large theater room will benefit from either the Focal or the Klipsch system. They are both more than good enough. The Focal system, in this configuration and in your large space, features 4 Chora 826D floor standing speakers with built-in Atmos modules which will provide a powerful Atmos surround field from the rear of the room. Which, depending on your listening preferences, might make the Chora a better choice.

Dolby Atmos only works if you have speakers where they need to be, in the ceiling.
@christopher1800
@christopher1800 3 жыл бұрын
Even Dolby Atmos product page mentions atmos-enabled speakers. It’s not perfect and certainly a step down from ceiling speakers (pun intended). But “only works in the ceiling” is not accurate. Also, it’s a reasonable alternative for those who can’t or won’t use built-in ceiling speakers. Installing those is nothing short of a full project.
