Love the review. You should do more! Wondering how you think the detail between the Clear and DT 1990 Pro compares, if you've heard the latter. Also - which do you think is brighter? Thanks!!!
@MarcelloRostagni3 жыл бұрын
I haven't done a side by side between the Clear OG and the DT 1990. I only heard the DT1990 very briefly so I would need to get it in for review and compare to the current Clear MG to make a really good comparison. Thanks @Michael Blum for your support!

Great review! I'd love if you went a little more into the perceived differences in detail between the headphones as well, such as Aeolus. The term "detail" is a bit of a loosely defined term overall but it would be great to get your take on it in the reviews as a sort of aggregate of all the qualities such as staging/imaging/seperation/layering/raw resolution
@MarcelloRostagni3 жыл бұрын
Thank you for watching @xzackly7 and taking the time to drop me a comment! Appreciate the support. It’s always tough to balance how much information I include in the reviews while still keeping it entertaining. I will try to go into more detail on detail in future reviews. I felt the two headphones were very close in their technicalities and depending on what pads you use with the Aeolus you can get a different sound presentation allowing for more resolution and technical performance. They are extremely close and if I didn’t own the Aeolus I could see the Clear being a excellent alternative depending on what a person enjoys.

Nice review! Though, I have to disagree about the stage being slightly better on the aeolus than the clear.......maybe if you tube the aeolus, but on solid state it goes to the clear from my experience (as well as detail)
@MarcelloRostagni3 жыл бұрын
Thank you @David Joshua for watching! All good; I think our audio chains will allow for some flexibility in different audible presentations as well as the pads used on the Aeolus and of course our ears too, and that is totally cool 😎 . I love the Aeolus with an OTL or the Pendant. I thoroughly enjoyed the clear and if I didn’t own the Aeolus, I would have bought a pair!

Watched this review using Clear Pro. :) Nicely done. Got one question though: which filter did you use with the D90 DAC? I find that with Clear I prefer the no.2 the most (slow, no delay). Gives back some of that natural sound IMHO.
@MarcelloRostagni3 жыл бұрын
Hey @DBSTHOR thanks for watching and your support! Usually when doing reviews I will use the standard filter the manufacturer sets. However for overall enjoyment, I enjoy the slow roll off filters on most DACs usually the most.

@SuperStarO3 жыл бұрын
Love the quality of the video man! Anyone else have issues with these though? With mine they are SO LOW in volume , once you raise the volume up it makes a HORRIBLE built in artificial clipping sound which makes me not able to crank up the volume much at all listening to HIP HOP w heavy bass / 808 / kicks. I get a super clean mix with them but it's just so unenjoyable having to be so low in volume. I had them swapped out & all in fear maybe mine were messed up but the other pair did the same. I am using them plugged into the headphone slot in my UAD x8 Interface. Any ideas? Do I need a different amp or? I don't see how that could be the issue though because all other headphones are fine through my UAD x8. If anyone can help please DM my instagram @SuperStarO as I won't see a reply here i'm guessing.
@MarcelloRostagni3 жыл бұрын
@SuperStar O you sound like you have a defective pair. I never had an issue with them clipping and I listen to a lot of bass heavy music. I would contact your dealer to be safe. I would also try them on a different amp to see if that could be the issue. The impedance rating of the Clear is less than many other headphones and I am not familiar with that amp but it might be worth trying them on another amp for process of elimination.

Do you think the Clear and Aeolus are different enough to be had together?
@MarcelloRostagni3 жыл бұрын
Great question @Jordan Simkovic for me personally I would probably own one or the other. Then add something that sounds drastically different to switch things up a bit. This could be different by person though and what they value and hear. The clear is also much more portable imo.
@KingFeraligator3 жыл бұрын
@@MarcelloRostagni What sort of person would prefer the Aeolus to the Clear and vice versa? For what sort of person would it be worthwhile to have both? Also what headphone would you choose as a compliment to one of the two? Awesome review as always :D and thank you for the response
@MarcelloRostagni3 жыл бұрын
The clear is more dynamic to my ears which can be greatly appreciated with some genres of music. The Aeolus has a better midrange to my ears and sounds more organic. Again they are closer than some other comparisons. Other headphones I like that could complement would be tvp.ag/0FEreX0vrY or tvp.ag/0FEre90vrY or the Verite Open/Closed.

Hi Marcello. Great video production value. Have you ever tried the Focal Clear standard grey colour version? I wonder if there are perceptible tuning differences between the Professional and the standard headphones?
@MarcelloRostagni3 жыл бұрын
Hi @Keith B , thanks for watching and the words of support! I haven’t tried it, but to my understanding there isn’t a difference in the tuning, just the overall appearance and included pads and cables. You can compare them here: Focal Clear Pro- tvp.ag/0FErcz0vrY Focal Clear: tvp.ag/0FErcv0vrY Message headphonesdotcom team live after 10am PST they are usually online to help!
