These compared to Sopras??? Any opinions? I'm curious about peoples opinions. I'm about to pull the plug. I've gone from B&Ws to Sonus Faber Olympicas to Focal Kantas to Focal Sopra. Deciding to get these or Sopra. We dont have focal suppliers in our town. They basically stopped carrying them and they are carrying Sonus and B&W

Hi Kevin. All speakers that I've owned including Mordaunt Short HT30, Proac response 3.8's and KEF Q55.2's have been bi-wired, but Focals Aria and Electra range aren't. My question is what is the big deal with bi-wiring and does it make a difference really? I ask this because you have grabbed my attention with the Focals as my possible next speaker along with KEF R7's and Proac DT8's.

steve rees ... I have the KEF Q55 run with a Yamaha integrated amp. bi-wiring is a personal preference in my opinion. I have now got the Q7 running with the Q55. it's all good now.

Funny thing is how expensive Focal is in US... 😱: I can buy a new pair of 1038Be2 for 3600€ (3990$), here in France. (And the cheapest offering for a pair of Aria 948 is...1398€!)

Even with 93db efficiency (1028be is 91.5db), its known that Focals are power hungry to get proper "cohesion" between mid and bass. Or was that just with older models? What amps are recommended? Is 80-100W enough for 1028be at least?

Did you even read the ones that left 1 star? There are only 3 first of all. And 2 guys were calling over the phone. I saw not one complaint about any real customer issues. All from impatient, self important people who don't have the patience to deal with others.

@@davidg7064 Old post but no it isn't. Big floor standers are heavy. If they aren't permanently on display it can take a few people a good amount of time to move them in and whatever else was in the room out. It's inconvenient but cut them some slack.

No. Jm lab was just making the design of the crossover and cabinet all the loudspeakers were provided by focal. jm lab was about to put Eton drivers but they were way too expensive, so they've choosen to part with focal JUST for the drivers. I believe you say false information, FACTS

Do you mean electra 1038 vs 1028 vs Kanta no2 or Kanta no1 vs Sopra no1 ? Electra 1038 is for large room and bass lovers. Kanta no1 and Sopra no1 are bookshelve speakers so they can't really be compare with 1038.
