Foce del Po: direzione Isola di Albarella (area privata però!)

L'isola di Albarella è un'isola situata nel mare Adriatico settentrionale, vicino al delta del Po.
È compresa nel comune di Rosolina, in provincia di Rovigo. Si ritiene che la sua formazione sia dovuta all'accumulo dei detriti portati dalle piene del fiume Po. Albarella si trova nel territorio del Parco regionale del delta del Po.
L'isola di Albarella è una realtà turistico-immobiliare a carattere privato che rappresenta un caso unico a livello europeo per la complessità del suo sistema. Vi sono oltre 2 milioni di alberi e circa 150 specie arboree, in gran parte autoctone, insieme alla laguna che la circonda, è ancora oggi rifugio per molte specie animali, daini, fagiani e lepri che vivono allo stato brado all'interno dell'isola. Il nome stesso dell'isola deriva da un albero, il Popolus Alba.
L'evento meteorologico eccezionale del 10 agosto 2017 (downburst) ha abbattuto circa 5000 alberi di grandi dimensioni. È in corso uno studio per il ripristino del verde.
La storia del territorio circostante a Rosolina è molto antica: la zona fu fortemente soggetta al dominio dei Romani e dei barbari e in seguito al dominio della Repubblica di Venezia. L'ampio territorio, che si formò a seguito di alluvioni avvenute nel XII secolo e della deviazione del corso del Po verso sud tra il 1600 e il 1604 con il Taglio di Porto Viro, fu ampiamente sfruttato dalla Repubblica di Venezia. Questa divise e mise all'asta il territorio formatosi su depositi alluvionali tra specchi d'acqua e isola.
Da allora il territorio dell'Isola di Albarella, segnato da catastrofi naturali e alluvioni, fu ceduto a varie famiglie nobili e di ricchi proprietari.
Nel 1988 le attività turistiche e commerciali sono state acquisite da un gruppo privato che mantiene il possesso del 30% delle proprietà immobiliari.
L'isola è accessibile tramite un argine artificiale, ma l'ingresso è interdetto ai non autorizzati.

It is believed that its formation is due to the accumulation of debris brought by the floods of the Po river. Albarella is located in the territory of the Po delta regional park.
The island of Albarella is a private tourist-real estate reality which represents a unique case at European level due to the complexity of its system. There are over 2 million trees and around 150 tree species, mostly native, together with the lagoon that surrounds it, it is still today a refuge for many animal species, deer, pheasants and hares that live in the wild within the island . The name of the island itself comes from a tree, the Popolus Alba.

The history of the area surrounding Rosolina is very ancient: the area was heavily subjected to the domination of the Romans and barbarians and later to the domination of the Republic of Venice. The island is accessible via an artificial embankment, but entry is prohibited to unauthorized persons.
The Paduan street artist Seneca paints love in his murals. His works come to life on the walls of forgotten and abandoned structures or buildings, many can be suddenly admired in isolated places, in some ruined country house after a walk in nature.
