I have the audiobook of The Children of Hurin. The whole reason I bought it is because it is narrated by Christopher Lee, who not only played Saruman, but is a freaking Tolkien-ologist who also knows how to pronounce everything correctly. He has read Lord of the Rings once a year for the last fifty years or so. :)

Melkor attacked only in the absence of Feanor. Melkor didn't attack when Feanor shut the door on his face the first go-around. And Melkor ordered a quick and hasty attack on the returning Noldor after they immediately got to Middle Earth... Seems to me he feared Feanor more than any other elf.

@Lily Yu True, but he alone was standing against a full army of Balrogs. Plus he is stated to be the most powerful Noldor, if Fingolfin fought Morgoth relentlessly, I think Feanot could´ve even overwhelm Morgoth at some point, maybe not kill him but really make him take a shot for his money.

Good but a few pieces are inaccurate, such as the fact that Fëanor never actually forgave Fingolfin. Also Maedros and Naylor were burned by the jewels as Varda had hallowed them so nothing of evil will, or that was not good could touch them with out being burned.

Hey, thanks for the comment, I believe I said Feanor and Fingolfin made peace, and not that Feanor forgave him. Which I believe is accurate. Also while I did not specifically mention their burned hands (though I should have), what I said was that they found no happiness with them. Which I believe is also accurate. Hope that addressed your concerns.

@@dynjarren5454 he didn't plan to do it, he was truly desperate for he couldn't tell his people "kidding! Let's go back, we have no ships". At one point he sat and did math in his head that it would take way to long to build ships even if he knew how. That's when he decided to take ships by force and Teleri had to know what was about to happen

@@inspektorradisha Yes, he could have turned back. Not “haha just kidding” but “hey, I made a mistake”. Olwë was not unwilling to fight Morgoth, he was unwilling to just hand over the ships without any idea what was happening. And no the Teleri didn’t start the fight: Fëanor showed up with a sword. No one in Valinor carried swords on a normal basis, the only reason to carry a sword would be because you’re looking for a fight. The Teleri were not his enemies, they were not working against him.
