Focus - 50 Jaar | Live at De Kroepoekfabriek
Focus is maar liefst een halve eeuw oud (in 2020) en nog altijd is de legendarische band ‘alive & kicking’.
Met een volstrekt unieke vorm van progressieve rock manifesteerde Focus zich in de eerste helft van de zeventiger jaren als het succesvolste en meest gewaardeerde exportproduct van de Nederlandse popmuziek.
De hoofdzakelijk instrumentale hits ‘Hocus Pocus’, ‘House Of The King’ en ‘Sylvia’ hebben zich als tijdloos bewezen.
Albums als ‘Moving Waves’, ‘Focus 3’ en ‘Hamburger Concerto’ staan te boek als monumentaal.
Tot op de dag van vandaag tourt en oogst Focus grote waardering tot ver buiten onze landsgrenzen.
Niet de minsten, Dave Grohl, Rush en Marillion om er een paar te noemen, zijn fan van deze pioniers van de progressieve rock.
‘Zware jongens’ als Opeth en Enslaved beschouwen Focus zelfs als een van hun belangrijkste inspiratiebronnen.
Nike gebruikte de wereldhit ‘Hocus Pocus’ in de commercial tijdens het WK voetbal in 2010.
Hetzelfde nummer is bovendien te horen in de remake van de Amerikaanse sciencefiction-actiefilm ‘RoboCop’.

Definitely All teh members of this FOCUS incarnation are using their best tools and expertise. Its remarkably how this song has evoluted diring the years. It impressed me the new arrangement on the drums. It gives the song a fresh ambient without taling away the solemn air of the song.

Maravilloso grupo Focus, que llevo en mi corazón! Corría la segunda mitad de los años 70 cuando en Radio Capital, estación radiofónica de AM, pasaban en la noche un programa llamado "Vibraciones". Era una hora de música de rock que a mí me hacía la delicia de la jornada, después de hacer la tarea escolar y tomar mi cena. Qué noches dichosas! Pues en uno de esos programas escuché por primera vez a Focus. Allí conocí La catedral de Estrasburgo y Eruption, que me parecieron ¡maravillosas! No pude volver a escuchar estas piezas sino muchos años después, porque no las programaban en la radio comercial. Y los discos LP no se conseguían tan fácil. Había que comprarlos importados, y yo no tenía dinero. Solo muuuchos años después pude volver a escuchar estas joyas, cuando conseguí los discos. Y hoy me deleito nuevamente a través de la magia de KZbin y gracias a quienes suben este valioso material. Muchas gracias! Un saludo y sean felices!

Voz : Manuel Camacho, muy buenas noches, todos los viernes después de las 10 sintonizabamos y toda la banda escuchaba con voz cavernosa los comentarios que hacía antes de presentar a grandes bandas, el mejor programa de rock en los 70s por Radio Capital, una costumbre de la gente joven, tiempos secundarianos en la onda del amor y paz, gran época por todos lados los más grandes grupos de rock de la historia, la mejor música. El Concierto de Hamburgo un gran legado de Focus, una joya inmortal, recordar es volver a vivir. No había sida, en fin que tiempos tan maravillosos señor don Simón

dutch people do speak excellent french, unfortunatly people from france are so picky and unpleasant when they hear someone trying to speak their language.....that being said, this is a very underappreciated prog masterpiece, i've heard the band played it live once and i was almost crying....
