Just found your channel and very pleased to see more wargamers using 1.72nd scale figures in plastic on Utube. I haven't seen this set so it's great to see the comparison line up, the 2 sided views to show how mixing brands will work and response to the Plastic Soldier Review, which is a good site but it's useful to hear another point of view.

Very beautiful figures, which are particularly appealing due to their dynamic poses. With a few tweaks to the equipment and weapons, they are sure to be even more convincing. A nice and comprehensive review of something I'm going to look for. Best wishes and a good time. Joachim

Hey Ronan- a really nice review and I agree, those Mars guys look pretty good! I really liked the size comparisons you are doing and these guys look great, matching up with some of the better kits in the process. I've been following your lead on this and creating a mixed group of paras- some for a North Africa, others for Crete and perhaps a third for Casino or perhaps France. These really look very good. Mars has picked up their game. Wish they had more poses and more crouching. If you are doing late war, these really look great, but early war they might not be as usable as some of the weapons were only adapted after Crete, I think. I am really curious as to how you are going to paint them up. ANy other mix and match plans- Japanese infantry, Chindits, Russian, British Infantry?

thank u for the great review...i picked up a box of valiant classic german infantry and ttroops includinghey were way bigger than my other sets of 1-72 german troops including my paras..they are just unusable with them..was wondering if u run into this often or not..and do u have one brand that u like to stick with. thanks again for all your reviews..they are very helpful

Thanks so much for the kind words. in answer to your question, I tend to avoid figures that look less realistic. I find that some brands go for a style which is very like that of fantasy figures. That is just a style I don't like. I am more of a traditionalist and I really like using the brands I had back in the 1980's as a kid. However, I am loving some of the newer brands also, particularly the more realistic sculpts. I actually had a look at the Valiant ones you mention and I think you are correct. They are very well done, but not a style I'd like personally. All the best and Happy Christmas, Ronan.
