Hello from Dagupan City Pangasinan. I arrived in the Philippines on 06 Dec 2024 and I can 100% attest on all KZbin vlogs about the Philippines are true and valid! My eyes are beginning to see what Ginno is talking about: OMG if you don’t have patience here in the Philippines then you will get stressed out, everything here is slow ie if you’re in a city ~ traffic galore! Rush hour will have Bumper to bumper traffic and drivers will cut you off thus slowing the Traffic flow it’s a nightmare that you will experience there’s no rules on the road, there’s bicycle riders, scooters, tricycles, jeepneys, all sorts of animals! My in laws ran over a goat and they had to pay 1.5K peso = $26.00 to the goat owner). Also, people will walk on the road as well because some cities don’t have sidewalks! There’s plenty more to report but I’ll stop here. Please be alert while driving and soon you’ll become acclimated and you’ll drive like the locals 😂😊😮😅😢

Hello my brother Thank you for the update on life in Dagupan City, Philippines. Patience is a must in the Philippines; specially if you plan on living in a city. I drove through the Pangasinan area in 2022 on our way to Ilocos Norte and remember the traffic and all the detours because of the road construction. Yes; sidewalks in the cities are often used by vendors and parking for motorcycles; people end up walking on the street. Driving takes time to get acclimated here. I enjoy driving in Aklan province because we don't have the traffic like in the cities. But, I still have to drive defensively and slow because there are just so many people that don't follow any driving rules. Motorcycles riding on the wrong side of the road, not yielding at intersections, and even not yielding on pedestrian crosswalks It might be worth it for some to hire a driver; if they can afford one. Driving here can be a major stress for some. I love seeing you order halo-halo my brother; makes me smile each time. Keep having fun my brother. Take care. Stay bleseed.

You'll get there my friend! Patience is what I always tell Americans that come here that they need to bring plenty of. Everything here moves slow; on island time. Standing in line is a part of life here. There are still many places here that use handwritten receipt; no computer system. I still see typewriters being used here. Take care my friend.

Negativity is toxic always & everywhere. And, unfortunately, simply quitting work and moving to the Philippines wil not change a negative person into a positive person. If only it were that simple. Personally, I think that, if you are a negative person, you need to change your attitude BEFORE moving to a place like the Philippines. Otherwise, the changes & challenges which you will encounter will likely make things worse for you, not better. If someone were to ask me where to start to change, from negative to positive, I'd probably advise starting with turning off the smartphone and disengaging from most, if not all, social media. If you still need to talk to people and/or use 2FA codes for banking - get a dumb phone. Negativity is a communicable disease. Can you guess how that disease is so widely spread? Shrug.... just my opinions & suggestions, based upon personal observation. Not worth a peso. Take it easy, everyone! :)

Good insight my friend. Definitely, work on negativity before moving anywhere. For me, I just seem to not have any time for myself to unwind when I worked in the U.S. My work consumed me. When I retired in the Philippines; I realized I was missing out on too many things. The simple joy of sunrises, sunsets, and morning walks. Good advice on the cellphone. My first 18 months living in Boracay when I first moved to the Philippines; I didn't carry a cellphone. I left my cellphone in my apartment; only used it to do my online banking. I have Facebook, still do, so my family and friends and the U.S. can stay in touch with me. I appreciate your insight my friend. Take care. Stay blessed.

@@dazeltv1351 I can relate, my firend. I went through something similar. After several decades of workaholic behavior, I spent 2 years on an island in the South Pacific. It took me 12 months to slow down & adapt to island life. After that, my eyes were opened & my priorities changed. I was a complicated person before, with a complicated lifestyle. Simple is much better. :)
