Having just recently fully restored a classic mini ......... trust me keep going ...... driving it will reward you more and better to say you did it than wished you HAD done it ...... despite the cost..... I've had mine 8 years and not used it over the winters. I had the arch liners out and sil covers off and only found a bit at the rear of the sill that was repaired, same with the drivers side rear wheel arch which was cut out and re welded. Fantastic job on your car.

Well done with this , really big job that. Good to see it saved though. Owned my own for 17yrs now. Always kept in the garage to avoid the problems you found😂

great job mate she looks awesome . i fully understand how you felt when the car was being stripped that the demon rust is always the problem with cars it is all hidden and looks ok from the outside but oh how ones heart drops when we see the cash cow in the cold light of day i know been there same as yourself . but you must be very pleased with her now and i hope you keep her she will be a sure classic in the future

Absolute fantastic video I so much enjoyed watching this, I've had my little Focus RS Mk1 now for nearly 4 years only got 68K on the clock and I am thinking of doing a full restoration like yours as basically its just the odd sunny day weekend car .. im planning on keeping the car as they are so rare now on the road and a very nice little investment they won't lose money as they become more sought after. A little added bonus I live in Essex and Basildon just 15 miles up the road so that's definitely where I'll take it when the time comes. .. once again many thanks for a great video and I hope you get many miles of enjoyment out of you RS, it must be a wonderful feeling knowing its just completely mint throughout when you're driving it .. :-)

Hi thanks for your reply. I would recommend newbridge but they only did my paint side I used another company to do my fab work but if I know what I know now my car would have gone to newbridge from day one. The full cost was around 7k by the times I had added various new parts , wheel refurb and transportation. Etc. The car is in very good condition but it is used so not as mint as it was 2 years ago. I will be taking it back to easex in the next year or 2 for some tidying up and hopefully under body resto.

There awesome cars but money pits. Saying that how much has it cost you to run & maintain a fiesta turbo. There rare as these days.

@@dazza_UTO not a terrible cost tbh. Insurance is approx £250 all mods declared. Tax is £245 py. Always run on shell v power but that goes without saying. Decided to keep it now and do a mini resto, nothing but messers want to buy cars nowadays. Always want something for nothing.

Jack Harris I agree all they want to do is have a blast in it then offer you 5k less than the asking price. I’d def recommend a mk1 frs but there hidden rot boxes
