Just replaced my pads and rotors on my ST. You don’t need to remove the sway bar links. I just used a good old basic Allen key to get the hard to reach bolt. Might need a few love taps with a mallet but was pretty easy to do.

My driver's side link just broke a few weeks ago at 65k miles, but it was a rust issue (no brake replacement for me that this point). Passenger side is fine. Which one broke for you?

@@tylerzufall2368 Any idea what's the torque spec to tighten rear brake caliper bracket bolts (not caliper pins)?

@@okaythen001 Generally, most bolts/hardware can be done with common sense tightness..i usually base it off how easily it came off. But generally tight, then a quick 1/4 turn or something at most. Your videos are some of the most clear and professional out there. It's a shame they don't get more views. Maybe there's not that many people out there looking for this. I know how to change disc brake pads, I just figured I'd watch to make sure there wasn't anything I wasn't prepared for..... Like that stupid sway bar bit for the rears... certainly not a game changer but that's nice to know going in.

Just put these pads front and rear and raybestos front and rear new rotors on my ST. Got all the parts from CJ pony parts. These pads stop hard just make sure you seriously do the burnishing process. A few notes from my experience: Taking the sway bar end link off will make it easy but you don’t have to with a 7mm Allen key that fits between the bottom caliper bolt and the end link You need the caliper compression tool for sure, rent it from autozone Don’t do the rear brakes with the emergency brake on Torque the front 18mm caliper bracket bolts to 129 ft lbs I did the rear brakes one wheel at a time Without having to remove the sway bar end link The raybestos rotors seem as good as stock to me which is what I wanted, just way less expensive The caliper bracket bolts on the rear brakes are 13mm Was pretty easy just time consuming, very worth it!

You didn't mention anything about unscrewing the brake fluid filler cap before pushing the pistons back. This must be done or you risk causing damage

This also makes it to where a compression tool is almost not needed at all. It amazed me the first time I did it after years of not. I will never go back to my old ways

Do you need the power tool to reattach the sway bar, or do you need to torque it to a specific torque? I dont have power tools. Thank you.

No disk turning? Before new pad install thats a good way to get some shaking while braking...

When I'm changing pads on most of my vehicles...to compress the piston you can just use a clamp and an old pad that was on it. I'm surprised he didn't mention turning the rotors when doing pads. That's also a big reason for shimmying or vibrations when braking..warped/uneven rotors.

What about abs pushing the caliper back without undoing the bleed nipple wouldnt it push fluid back through the valve
