The more frequently you go, the easier and more complete the confession is as you become more aware of your faults and sins. Also, the priest is there in persona Christi meaning you are actually in the presence of Christ Himself (who already knows everything about you) fear not, His love and mercy knows no bounds!!!

Confess when the moment has matured to do so, not just because. Confession is per se for mortal sin; therefore, anything else would be a devotional confession, devotional as different from necessary. Dont just do the list, confess what is your struggle

Wow. I love this. It is great. And yes, I never thought a few Hail Mary's, or Our Fathers was very just considering my sins. God is So Merciful❤ P.s., I hated smoking. For the last 20 years of my 40 years of smoking, I would hide it from people. I never smoked in public; or in my residence. I was ashamed that it had control over me. I was completely addicted to it. I despised the stench of it. I despised how old and unhealthy it made me; both in how I looked and how I felt. Mother Mary broke the chain. It was her. I couldn't have done it without her. It's been 7 years now smoke free. Thank you Blessed Mother.🙏🕊❤✝️📿

Father, seriously, I would be worse than a mess if following the "minimum requirements'" of One Confession & One Communion per year... The Sacrament of Confession is much more helpful every 2'weeks, if spiritual progress is not to be impeded/ delayed And Communion on Sundays+ Would be wonderful to receive Communion at daily mass - and those who still are able to get to a Mass daily ....would benefit greatly to do so.💐🙏✨ Btw: as a former smoker: I needed 15 YEARS of efforts to finally arrive at self-identifying as a non-smoker What makes quitting difficult: Over 100 pleasurable elements are mixed in with dozens of poisons, a few examples: Sugar, Chocolate, Orange flavoring Cinnamon, Nutmeg, Clove, Lavender, Strawberry flavor... ALL of the hundreds of poisonous chemicals & pleasurable nutritional/ flavorable features woven into cigarettes used to be listed on the Philipp Morris Website (20 years ago) Anyone working at getting free of any addiction: Holy God will help you If you do not give up+💖

@@AveMaria1917do not be. Remember that St Theresa of Avila called herself and the human race “loathe some worms” not out of hate or disdain, but out of humility. Remember St Padre Pio was known to be blunt and chastise people, telling them to get out of the confessional and come back when they had examined their conscience. We aren’t babies, we are adults in a life and death spiritual struggle, and we don’t have to be so informal as self deprecating at St Theresa or as the above comments, but there is nothing wrong with being that way sometimes in the right context with the right spirit about it. Some people are nerdy. Others are more like jocks or hippies, know what you are because it reveals your talents and gifts and can help you discern what God wants you to be.

What I hate is going into a confessional to find it fully lit with the priest behind a transparent screen and nothing but a comfortable chair to sit on instead of a kneeler..all anonymity is gone and that does not make me feel like I can be truly open and honest about my sins..I don't go to confession to have a friendly chat with a priest, it's a real put off to me.

I had not been to confessio for a long time and I had spent a month trying to find a Church that heard confessions. I finally found church and I waited my turn. There were two doors, I saw the priest enter one door and I went through the other door. I was struck dumb. It was an open room with two chairs. I could not utter a word. Father gave me absolution but I had not made a confession. I feel as though the Church has let the faithful down in the second Vatican Council, I feel lost as I live at least 40K from the nearest Catholic Church. Pray for the faithful Priests who are being cast aside.

While I had exactly the same reaction as Fr. Mike regarding a flood of tears (even sobs) that I had to stifle so as not to disturb the others in the small theater, I disagree with his critique that it lacked explicit "God" references. I felt God's presence enormously. I am reminded that "naming You is all in vain." God is the unnanable. As beautifully shown in Exodus when Moses cries out "show me your face." God puts him in the cleft of the rock, covers him with His hand and passes by so Moses can only see him from behind. This is more, I think, our experience of God. We understand afterwards what has happened to us. I felt God's presence fully and quietly throughout the movie and as such was overwhelmed with emotion and tears. Explicit God references MAY have defeated the movie's impact on the unchurched or even nonbelievers. For the believer, for the Catholic, I contend that the movie clearly showed God's presence in Cabrini's life.

I grew up in a Dominican parish 80's-90's, and NONE of the friars explained confession like Fr. Pine. It was no mercy, no help, no hope. Yes, I would regularly be given the "dressing down" of a life time and a little hint that "don't you think because you came to confession your sins are forgotten...they are not" which is true, I will have to show everyone at the Judgement all my sins, but did you have to kick me while I was down too? well, I guess that's nothing compared to Christ dying on the cross for my sins...but, damn, I felt so sick after my last confession, I puked in the parking lot

I am 89 in a country that it is difficult to find Mass and the church I attended used the confessional as a storage area. Thank you , I am a convert also, of some 58 years now and although I had the greatest love and respect for the lovely Priest who gave me hours of his time in faith instruction of THe Catholic Church, The Sacrament of Confession and Prayer were not gone into in great depth and they are both so important. The Sacrament of confession is as lovely as recievng our Lord in the Sacrament of Holy Communion , and yet Catholics today do no go ? I am not very good but I go when a little voice inside me tells me its time and I do not like using the grill, I would rather speak to the Priest Kneeling before him so he can see who I am , not just a voice.

ANYONE of any faith is welcome to attend a Catholic Mass BUT YOU HAVE TO BE A CATHOLIC to go to Confession.because ONLY by going to Confession , by Confessing your sins , does a CATHOLIC. have PERMISSIONto receive Holy Communion ! You HAVE to be in the STATE OF GRACE to receive the Holy Eucharist . Now , IF you want to go , I STRONGLY suggest you consider becoming a Catholic ! In the mean time , IF you are not a Catholic , but are thinking of converting , then attend Mass and during the distribución of the Eucharist in Mass , you could pray the following prayer : Oh my Jesús , I believe you are present in the Blessed Sacrament and I love you above all things and I Long for you in my heart since I cannot now receive you Sacramentally come a least spiritually into my heart , I embrace you as if You are already here and I united myself entirely to You never permit me to be separated from you . Amén . in this way you will not be entirely left out from receiving the Eucharist ! PS give cute lil Chimmy a big hug for me ! 😁👍

Please..! If only you would "Slow-Down-Your-Speech"..!!! Ask Jesus to speak as HE did.. that way, you will have an impact on imparting HIS message...! The attention will then be on the Word and Not on yourself..! Thank you..!

⭐⭐⭐ CONFESSION DENIERS! ⭐⭐⭐ Please note that we are taught to confess our sins to one another (James 5:16). The Apostles received power over sin from Christ ( Matthew 16:19, 18:18, John 20:23). They handed it on to their successors. Paul forgave sins IN THE PERSON OF CHRIST and with the authority of Christ (2 Corinthians 2:10). Paul had a ministry of reconciliation to Christians urging them to be reconciled to God (2 Corinthians 5:20 and following). Orthodox and Catholic priests received this teaching directly from the Apostles and have practiced it continuously since 33 AD. NOTE: 500 years ago, "MAN" who is fatally flawed by his ego, decided that these BIBLE verses no longer apply. Can you be Christian if you DENY any part of the bible?

Jesus is the way to salvation. Repent and believe the gospel of Jesus Christ. He pay your sin debt in full on Calvary. Mary cannot shave you Thomas Aquinas cannot shave you. There is one mediator between God and man the man Christ Jesus. Why are you going through another mediator like Mary that is not the gospel that is rejecting Christ repent and come to him today for salvation you must be born again. He said Mary cannot make you born again only God’s holy spirit through Jesus Christ.

You are so misinformed. We don’t believe Mary can save us. We simply honor her for being the mother of God. Read the book of John, scripture by Jesus of forgiving sins. He breathed upon them they received the Holy Spirt.

I have never asked Mary to save me (nor to shave me for that matter, I usually just do that myself) I have just asked her to pray for me

Friend Bajone02, I'm curious as to what your intention (intentions?) was (were?) in posting this comment. Were you wanting to be sarcastic? Commending? Buddy-buddy? Mean? Humorous. I urge you to consider that tone is a tricky thing to convey via the written word; perhaps you would do well to mull over whether or not you succeeded in projecting the tone you intended.

The comments at kzbin.info/www/bejne/n3KxoZ96gsmri6s are why I go to an SSPX chapel given that Pope Francis has given them faculties. I know their priests will say the absolution correctly, I don't need to worry it's made up or corrupted.

Dominicans wear a rosary. It’s just not visible since the video focuses on his torso. I mean you can’t see a neckline under a habit that’s the whole point. I wouldn’t focus on what others are wearing

Yet is such explanation on detailing such sins... can foster other temptations into the confessor... really? So, for example detailing a masturbation... how? Oh man, no. Is more than sufficient to say, masturbation (period). Reshaping something that does need to... most of these intellectualism withing priesthood comes from developed cultures (their cross is their own culture... Intellectualizing everything without going in to the heart). I am Catholic and not wanting to legitimize myself on this intellectualism... I can confess and i won't detail my sins to any priest... for example.. I have sin Vs the first 3... Enogh!!!

@@carolynkimberly4021 I am sorry. I am not a North American to intellectualized everything yet not making the journey to the heart and yet lecture nor judge anyone or even to recomend when in fact I'll continue as a sinner with a funny comment to make you laugh during homily like the American or developed countries priesthood do yet they go about with their conveniences... yet... Their fruits are awful... From a pastoral researcher... As i am Catholic and not waiting to legitimize on priest from around here... less the lay people from around here as well. Thank you for your recommendations though.
