sound design is something so ridiculously underrated in film. any little sound in a movie, from the unfolding of clothes to the sliding of a business card, ALL has to be picked up by microphones, mixed in, (sometimes foleyed), and have to convey the tone & match the direction of the film. movies like this work WONDERS with it, and im not surprised to see this movie used for ASMR as, in some ways, that feeling you feel from the sound design is INTENTIONAL.

Could not agree more. I've done some minor sound work before (just helping out friends, normally in front of the screen 😅) and damn does it make a difference having good sound technicians. It can really make the whole film - the breakfast scene sort of proved in a way just how important sound can be.
