godliness with contentment is great gain. For we brought nothing into the world, and we can take nothing out of it.

A few days ago as I was scrolling thru KZbin, looking for a Focus on the Family podcast to listen to on the way home, the episode on John Burke's NDE book popped up. Which led to me finding this one. I subsequently bought the Kindle book and am halfway thru it. Long story short, I began doing the 60/60 today. What makes me sorrowful, is that I was doing the 60/60 several months ago, by the Holy Spirit's leading, (and it was wonderful) before I'd ever heard of John Burke. I could share all kinds of things...and yet in the short time since this Spring, I've managed to grieve the Holy Spirit and begin to harden my heart...all because I chose sin. I...just...am hanging by a thread. I'm asking Him to have mercy on me. I miss His Presence, and His leading. If you hear His voice, please grasp it, obey it, treasure it.

I had set two alarm reminders with verses, but I’m going to try every waking hour. Thank you.

I read this as a newer Christian and it impacted the years since so profoundly! Such a simple, doable way to form the healthy habit of acknowledging our Creator throughout each day. Don't get cocky though- if you're like me, that alarm will go off right AFTER you do something boneheaded... but grace will remind you that this is exactly why you need Him!!

Praying without ceasing is the Holy Spirit doing it.

The Dash I read of a man who stood to speak At the funeral of a friend He referred to the dates on the tombstone From the beginning...to the end He noted that first came the date of birth And spoke the following date with tears, But he said what mattered most of all Was the dash between those years For that dash represents all the time That they spent alive on earth. And now only those who loved them Know what that little line is worth For it matters not, how much we own, The cars...the house...the cash. What matters is how we live and love And how we spend our dash. So, think about this long and hard. Are there things you'd like to change? For you never know how much time is left That can still be rearranged. If we could just slow down enough To consider what's true and real And always try to understand The way other people feel. And be less quick to anger And show appreciation more And love the people in our lives Like we've never loved before. If we treat each other with respect And more often wear a smile, Remembering this special dash Might only last a little while So, when your eulogy is being read With your life's actions to rehash... Would you be proud of the things they say About how you spent YOUR dash? The dash- Linda Ellis
