This one plugin befuddles me. It seems very subtle. Also seems to take a lot of explanation for a difficult to hear effect? And what exactly is it doing? Is it panning some very small amounts of some frequencies of the bass track off to the sides? Or cutting some frequencies out of the center? Or is it quieting the bass when the girl is singing? I've tried it with my musics as well, and honestly... I think I need a far less subtle example.

This effect is subtle, but you certainly notice it when it's bypassed. From my understanding, the plugin learns the frequencies of the sidechain feed and then ducks down those frequencies of the source track the plugin is applied to as opposed to ducking down the entire signal. This is great to undo some frequency masking and create space in the mix.
