@shwacksack meh, not really. If you mean, i was raised hindu and taught that meditative thought was part of my spirituality sure. I think you might have deeper feelings on this issue if it was the commodification of your religion/practices, and has now morphed into something people are swearing by it as there favorite exercise.(i.e. 'hot yoga.') I'd rather people just rename that to be a type of exercise, and not call it yoga. I'm not all people who practice it 'missing it', but many are.

@SenorNasty Granted, western yoga is definitely watered down compared to its traditional Indian counterpart, but even with the spirituality watered down it is still one of the best practices a person can do for their own personal health and happiness. In my experience, there is some "spiritual materialism" going on but by and large the people doing "western yoga" aren't doing to be cool or show off. It is a genuine practice for them and all in all it makes them a better person.
