I’ve never had so many tangles! I think I was round myself about 3 times in the day. Hounds just picking up the bait and coming uptide so it was hard to see the bites before they got tangled! All part of learning though!

I used to run a charter boat out Levington Marina, Dunflyin, we had some great trips by the Towers, the Felixstowe ledge and offshore for Bass to the Gabbards. I was sad to hear that the fishing off the east coast in general has gone quiet, however, it looks like there is light tackle sport to be had. I had fond memories coming back up the river Orwell in thick fog with 4/5 pleasure boats in close behind. Any charter boats now? Well done on a busy day

Yes it has changed over the last couple of years, we have to make the most of what we have though and it might change again next year… not many charters operating at the moment, only a handful to be honest. Good to get the rods out and the hounds certainly kept us busy!

It is kind of funny how every place in the world has different ideas on what good and trash fish are. Here in Virginia Beach, Virginia USA, Skate, Rays, and Shark are considered a nuisance.
