oh boy, this was how it was done, so many bands copied these two guitar players, first rock band I ever heard bouncing off one another, they do more in their live stuff but that stuff was generally for warm up or messing about onstage they integrated it into a great song . . this was 72 believe it or not . . it or not, big rock for 72, but they rocked clubs for years before this fairly ahead of their time IMHO as many British bands were back then, and whats odd is they got it all from earlier American players and bands, crazy how it works, then it all stopped, digital ruined a lot, enter rap... meh .. the song or lyrics aren't foghats but the playing is, its a muddy waters song written in 54' but Foghat made it theirs for sure .. slow ride solidified this band as a legit rock band imho .. got to meet Dave and the band in 93 whatever in Seattle we did their security at the place called the ballard firehouse, small venue, back when all rock bands either stopped touring or went to very small intimate venues, 5000 or so, they claimed, and I heard this form great white guitar payer who I really respect as a player Mark Kendall, "grunge is driving rock and roll out... sad way to look at it IMHO grunge was a moniker most of them didn't care for, it's rock n roll no two ways about it... but since they were getting all that attention many rockers were bitter and heart broken . . (srry dave) in any event even tho Dave's waist line had seen better days he blew the lid off the joint with slide in hand, WOW! just when you think you had it all that slide guitar stuff sorted that happens, blew me away . . . . . . crowd went crazy.. great show

The only way one could see bands back in the 70's was to attend a concert. We could have given two sheets about what was on TV--we hardly ever watched it--and the TV channel guides usually sucked. Forget about catching a rerun or it being aired more than once--it never happened. Kudos to the people who upload these old shows--us old farts appreciate it.

This where I came across Foghat, Don Kirchner's Rock Concert. My high school/college bud and I had gone out to grab a few cold ones and got back to his folks house just as Rock Concert came on. Now remember we were let us say "feeling no pain" as it were. The voice over guy said "we have a great new band for you guys tonight, Foghat". We both lost it. Now his folks are trying to sleep and down in the family room are this pair of drunk, loud college guys making all this racket! They were cool, not a word. Even the next morning both of us hung over, laying on the floor very groggy and needing a shower to make us able to be around "civil human beings", not a word! I guess they thought "well at least we know where these two are, and not in the local ER"! His folks were like a second set of parents as mine were to him. Thank you Don for a lifetime of great memories, Rock Concert was great. Be well and safe peace to you and yours.

Mad Dog 20-20 was "brought up " more than once.🤮 FOGHAT was on top and so was the mayor's daughter.😊👍 Edit: my hair was longer than Daves. Now I'm a retired and don't have to worry about hair. 🫡

Late to the party I was when Foghat put on a show at Wild Adventures in southern Georgia in August 2022. The last original member Roger Earl was behind the drum kit, but the current lineup put on a mighty fine show.
