Stone Blue is the seventh studio album by English blues rock band Foghat, released in May 1978 on Bearsville Records. "Stone Blue" paired Foghat with producer Eddie Kramer, who had previously engineered recordings for Jimi Hendrix and Led Zeppelin. Kramer and Foghat didn't collaborate smoothly, but the tension in the studio may have helped to give the album an added edge. Besides the title track (a Top 40 hit), "Stone Blue" contained a ferocious cover of Robert Johnson's "Sweet Home Chicago," reasserting the band's blues credentials.

I truly miss Lonesome Dave and Rod Price. One of my best friends took his own life and it devastated me. And another friend said your too depressed lets go see a gig and snap you out of it.Well needless to say I was really Stone Blue and Foghat totally helped me through. Every time I here this song I feel I lived it. R.I.P . all of the friends and loved ones anyone has lost music like this can renew and restore your energy and help you deal with life.

My dad had this album back in the early 80's and me and my brother would listen to it over and over through his YAMAHA stereo system. This song was probably my favorite. 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥

Me and your dad may be the same age, I am 58 and my older brother of 5 yrs used to tune into don kirshners rock concert every Saturday night and foghat among many great talents of the mid 70s played that show, he also used to blast fool for the city album from 75 and foghat live from 77 was played lowd and they grew on me and I got a chance to see them in 83 and 93 in the Omni in Atlanta ga when they opened for triumph and in 93 when all 4 members re-united for the return of the boogymen tour

I agree with the comments below except for one thing: If foghat came out with a live album, I was sure it would be a double live album. this didn't have "my babe" or "Chatau 59 boogie," both of which were great live performances.

You know, it's so strange.. back then a band that had been together for .. my god... 10 years! were Dino Saurs! But now, what I see is a band of barely out of their 20s young guys that haven't even been together for 10 years. It was only 10 years since Dave recorded "Looking In". And they're really tight as a band.. but they have absolutely NO stage show. Just 4 guys playing. I can't believe it was 30 years ago I sent in my demo to the *wrong* management company (I think) when there was TWO (!) Foghats. Dave's, and Roger's. Still have that demo..

Yes I think this was the 1981 tour. I remember thje white stage. I had snuck a cassette taprecorder in a binocular case. I listened to it alot until some ass from work stole it. I saw them with Starz. After this song he said "thank you, alllright! That's a new song. Might be on our next album. A song called stone Blue. Here's one you know now." It was Drivin' wheel.

this is post 1980...I saw Foghat July 8th 1980 with Pat Travers band at Cobo Arena and it was definitely Rod the Bottle Price playin guitar that night!!!!!!!!! coincidentally, this was the 3rd time I had seen them live in 1 of the "big houses" and in I believe 1997.... saw them in a popular rock bar in town the "Token Lounge" in Detroit area....and watched Rod play guitar standing 15 foot away....what a total trip.........Love that original Foghat format
